    Grado modders go Magnum

What material are you using for the baffle, and is the port centered in the baffle? I have the V7 and find them to be loose in the lower frequency.

Try to see if Grado will send you a pair, if not then PM me and we can work out the cost of shipping. I will give you a pair free, but the shipping is on you.

Send Grado an email telling them that the gimbal broke.  They will ask for your address and most likely send you a new pair.  They did that for me. Cheap, only a stamp for the email...   If that doesn't work let me know...I have several spares.   -retox

I completed my latest project on Sunday. They are SR-60e drivers and stock cable inserted into a pair of turned down 325 cups. Added a leather headband and presto...SR-325-60e. They sound pretty good at first listen. I haven't had time to really sit down and give them a good listen.

The Howie's look great.  Did you glue each piece of wood together prior to turning on the lathe?

I got to say that the look of these inspired me.  I have a pair of early 325 cups with one bad driver so I thought I may as well experiment with the cups. I used my metal lathe and turned the cup down to what you see. I have a new pair of SR 60e headphones that I might use the drivers and...

To "Y" or not to "Y" that is the question...   So I just finished a pair of headphones, Popular Cups, and Magnum V7 drivers. So I decided to go with a single detachable cable using three strands of 30 AWG silver coated copper wire in paracord. Mini jack on headphone cup end, and mini jack...

gasmono   I have successfully split several pairs of 325 by using a shallow baking dish with water at a level as not to touch the drivers when inserted.  The driver obviously is pointing up. I bring no more than 3/4" of water to a boil in the microwave and place on the counter.  Then I...

I have some Cherry and Walnut in stock so I might try both. I also have popular and have enjoyed a pair with Magnum V7 from Symphones. As a matter of fact, the popular with V7s are my goto headphones.   Thanks for the info...   Take care   -retox

I have a pair of 325 pink drivers that I was thinking about switching to wooden cups, what sound difference should I expect? The aluminum cups are a little rough and the looks of the wooden cups is really the driving factor.

    Grado RS series Owner club!

Dead driver, I have started a claim to get my money back...I will see how it goes. The amp works fine and one driver is good. The repair is $100 through Grado for a matched pair of new RS-2 drivers and cable. Decided I would go the refund route first.   Live and learn...

    Grado RS series Owner club!

I don't have the box and there are no numbers on the outside of the cups. Just the number 23 written on the inside of the cup. Its located just above the where the cable enters the cup. Somewhat hard to see. Is this the serial number?

    Grado RS series Owner club!

I just got a pair of RS-2 buttoned with no serial number on the outside.  These have dark pink drivers. One channel is out and there was an attempted repair so the driver was not re-glued. I was able to remove the driver from the cup and noticed a number 23 on the inside of the cup. Is this...

Can someone help me with a pair of RS2 cans?  I need to disassemble one of the cups to re-solder the driver.  How do I take these apart. I normally use hot water with the Prestige series but not sure what glue is used with the RS2.  And I don't think I want to use hot water with wood.   Any...

Yes, I am using L-Cush and the large pads referred as salad bowls...both come off. Salad bowls more so. Both are new.  Not sure what the problem is. I will try your suggestion and see what happens.   Thanks

Help, I am frustrated with the pads constantly falling off my cups...this happens with most pads I try and on stock sr325, modded sr60 wooden cups, and stock sr60s.  Has anyone come up with a means of non-permanent attachment of pads to cups? I was thinking of the hook side of Velcro on the cups...
