Adding a Burson HA-160 was an incredible improvement over even the Schiit Asgard. Not sure how powerful that is but I stay under a quarter of the volume

Would this be a good dac amp for Alpha Prime?

It may prove to be too expensive for me as I only have $600-$700 at this point unless I settle for Primes. There is some benefit to primes though as Ethers demanded even better recordings than Primes. (my only complaint which is not really a complaint)

In theory I prefer neutral but in practice  I have found I preferred warm. I will look into it, (I prefer neutral in speakers which is not fair (true) because I have custom set my sub.

I found the highs emphasized a little more than I would have liked, especially when compared to the STAX 007a. Very revealing and open, though. On another note, after hearing the Ether C, I am suddenly not satisfied with my Primes. That will be my next buy I believe.

It is amazing sounding and leakage is minimal. I love it. I got mine used and I have to get the connection just right in order for it to play properly. Once it is right, it is snug and sounds amazing. I am wondering if I should open these up and fix the connection

I may have obtained my perfect setup. DX80 - Burson HA-160 - Alpha Primes.   It is hard to imagine much gain from more expensive components though I have not heard more expensive components

Dumb question. Do you need a special amp to listen to electrostatic head phones? I am going to have an opportunity to try Mr Speakers, electrostatic but was wondering if my amp would work.
