The Fiio X3 Thread.
I have been using my X3 now for over a month and I am very happy. The mid bass issue I had initially with line out was due to an issue with the X3 and my Millett Hybrid amp not playing nice together. I got my normal preamp back and now it sounds fantastic. I listen to mostly mp3 in Random. When...- TVaudio

The Fiio X3 Thread.
Yeah, I know. I have seen all the frequency graphs and they say it doesn't exist. But I have started using the headphone out instead of the line out. Unfortunately I bought it because of the line out. I am using mine a little differently than everyone else. I wanted to get a standalone unit for...- TVaudio

The Fiio X3 Thread.
Spent some time today with the X3 on my Man Cave system. Sad to say I wasn't very happy. I was using the line out into my Millett that I am using as a pre, feeding into my amps and that mid bass hump was very annoying. I can eq it out, but then any other source I hook up is out of whack. This...- TVaudio

The Fiio X3 Thread.
It's not easy. I get kind of obsessive about things and need to find out all I can about something. Don't get me wrong, some of the things posted dragged on too far sometimes, but I think it has made my use of the X3 so trouble free for me. I learned a lot before I got it, so when the X3...- TVaudio

The Fiio X3 Thread.
Mmet, I mainly use mine standalone with my UE SuperFi 5pro's. I have a Millett Hybrid amp and a pair of Grado 225's, but I haven't tried them with the X3 yet. I am using my Millett right now as a preamp in my man cave setup. I definitely find the X3 sounds more detailed. I didn't dislike the...- TVaudio

The Fiio X3 Thread.
WHEW!! I did it! All 519 pages. I got through about 300 before I ordered mine. It showed up a few days ago and have been listening to it while reading. I am very happy. I opened the box, charged it, upgraded the firmware, removed the mSD card from my Rockboxed Clip Zip, installed it in the X3...- TVaudio

someone please explain xlrs to me
There are many different combos for this. We have 4 pin camera headsets, one 5 pin camera headset, used to have 9 pin for intercom on cameras and floor director boxes. I believe our old Senneheiser commentator headsets we used for hockey were 5 pin as well, because they had a cough/interrupt on...- TVaudio

New Millett Hybrid Maxed Amp
Just curious. I have a non Max MH with BG's, would these caps be a recommended try with this amp. I'm not unhappy, but as we all know, can always be happier "maybe". What do you think?- TVaudio

Review: Koss Pro4AA Titanium vs. AKG K 701
Out of curiosity, has anyone heard these new Titaniums as well as the original 70's Pro4AAA? The originals were my favorite closed phone, and I'd like to revisit that time because my old ones are long gone.- TVaudio

E-MU 0404 vs Silverstone EB01
I put sockets in my EB01 to roll the opamps and I put 627's in and it really opened it up I thought.- TVaudio

Grado: Such a fatiguing listen?
I too find my 225's comfortable. I wear them with bowls and even with my glasses on I can wear them forever. I tried the 414 modded pads and they didn't do it for me. I definitely believe it is a head shape and size thing. I've got a pretty big melon and I think that is why I find them comfy.- TVaudio

IEM to replace Creative EP-630
I have a pair of 630's that I was very happy with. I ended up making a big jump in price to UE Super.Fi pro 5's and I think they are amazing. But thats a huge price difference. I think for the price the EP-630's are excellent.- TVaudio

Best, cheapest USB DAC with a line-out?
I have an EB01 that I am very happy with. I did add sockets for the opamps and changed them to my preference which for me really opened it up. But stock it is still one heck of a deal.- TVaudio

super.fi 5 pros vs. Shure SE310
I know for myself the Super Fi's weren't comfortable at first. Once I tried the reverse mod they fit great and sound amazing. My 2 cents Rick- TVaudio

It's definitely an F. I took a look under a magnifying glass. What caused the problem was dummy me cooked it with my soldering iron by accident.- TVaudio

EB01 mods
SUCCESS!!! I hooked up an external 5v 1A power supply and everything works like a charm. I like the difference this combo make.Bass is less muddy and tighter, the highs are extended and cleaner. Now I have only been listening for about 20 mins, but so far it has been worth the effort.- TVaudio

EB01 mods
Ok, I installed the sockets for the opamps last night and this morning I put my OPA627's in and............. nothing. I keep getting Windows errors that the DAC has exceeded power limits. So for now it is not working. So I am going to try hooking it up to my 5v Elpac to see if that will solve...- TVaudio
