Not sure what to get next.
I ended up getting the Sony 1000x, Momentums 2.0, and Fostex T50RPIII. I was pretty surprised by how bad two of those where. Not even close to the Vmodas. That said the Fostex are ridiclously good. I'd say those are the best headphones i've ever used in the 300 dollar range. While the bass is...- lawlbear

Just curios, when's the last time you tired EQ someheadphones? Did you use hardware or software? And what kind of band seperation where you using? And yeah of course, like i said, fine tunning, not hard blasting your EQ.- lawlbear

If you're are blasting your EQ to +24 on each frequency sure the analogy works. But I'm talking about moderate tunning here. No one said anything about "fixing," it's about fine tunning. If you enjoy a balanced sound then right on, but I can't say the same. And as for the Slang, sorry thought...- lawlbear

Lol what dude, thats like buying a pc and not overclocking it. A dress on a pig is a horrible analogy thats more like cooking a pig and not using any spices. No one likes overspicing, but no spice? Nay boiiiii, eq is life.- lawlbear

Yeah man well put and I agree, kinda what i was getting at. Of course you can't compare headphones to cars but the general idea is there. And while I would love to try all these headphones in person myself I feel like a cuck if I order a bunch of them just to test them and return em =P- lawlbear

I ask because it's good to get input from various people. But i'm not sure I agree with your assesment either. You can dyno test cars and I'm pretty sure you can figure out which one is gonna be faster. I would imagine the same goes for headphones. There are of course things that can't be taken...- lawlbear

Based on Frequency response charts from inner fedelity, also I EQ all my headphones. But Response chart will give u a good idea of what they can put out.- lawlbear

So I bought the V-Moda Crossfade M-100's a year ago now, and while I love the sound I hate the lack of comfort. Can anyone recommend some headphones in that price range with comparable bass? Something that is wearable throught the day. I don't mind going up to 300. As a refrence I'm really...- lawlbear

Equalization - capabilities and limitations
Same here man. I love bass. I usually equalize my headsets to give me a perfect balance and then boost up the bass. Even though this hurts the rest of your frequencies it gives u a more tuned sounds.- lawlbear
