Wow 075 seem to throw music all around the room, soundstage is very different from what i heard ever. Hmm maybe thats why it could be 'unnatural'. Bass is better mids are better and treble is right there. I think it could be best version yet from kingwa.- peppyjoe

Tried for first time after being on b1 since quite few months. 075 certainly resembles b1 to me and imaging even is more solid than b1. Mids are certainly better in 075. Now i realise how much thinner b1 was. 076 seems smoother to me analogish kind.- peppyjoe

Noise is fixed in the newest released r8 firmware v1.13. As far as listening goes sound signature is same as all the parallel dop firmwares but my system liles old tda syn firmwares so i did not analyse the improvements much.- peppyjoe

AFAIK red button is for amanero interface, dont press for more than 1 sec while di20 is on, otherwise the current amnaero firmware will get erased and you would need to flash again. USB blaster is needed to update di20 firmware.- peppyjoe

Guys, I am using di20he and r8he. While using usb, I noticed that acss coax from di20he to r8he sounds more lively open and smooth on treble whereas from i2s hdmi to r8he sounds more laid back and voices and instruments spread and go back though tonality is much better than coax. The difference...- peppyjoe

What you shared is true for me as well. Mine is also a speaker system, i dont use headphones at all and i use master 1/master3 combination along with di20he. Your post inspired me to swap the pins on my recently procured r8he and i went from latest firmware to old R8TDA_Asy.jic. got to say you are right. This fw is more natural and warmer than any of the latest ones those after pin swap and R8asy3. It has much more smooth and has more bass and less...- peppyjoe

My m1 m3 are now 10months old, so well burned in. R8he is 4months old and latest addition is di20he which is a week old. But i have observed the sound quality change in night before also. Got your point thanks, i suspect it needs to do something with noise in electricity during daytime, in night as soon as it clocks 10:30 or 11PM, it all starts to sound more dynamic and fabulous.- peppyjoe

I tried the latest update on my r8he coming from asy3. Soundstage appears big but there is a treble rolloff and it does not sound as anayltical as asy3. In short new firmware is smoother in high frequencies and there is more of an enveloping sound than before. Male voices are surely better in...- peppyjoe

Kingwa said its having r8_asy3 firmware by default. He sent me r8_asy, r8_19 and r8_v3 firmwares to try but suggested not to fiddle till the dac is fully broken in. I am using and liking it at 8x os mode. In nos mode it sounds like a refined dac 19. In os mode, it transfers my system to a...- peppyjoe
