Sorry, should have clarified (M3 = Mjolnir 3). Did you use the CA-1a + Star8 cable out of the headphone jack of the Mjolnir, rather than the Mjolnir + Aegir combo?

Maybe you played around with all of the settings and did it on purpose, but in this picture the polarity is inverted (you can tell because the volume font is yellow). It does sound like you prefer NOS DAC's though, so maybe the Weiss just wasn't for you.

I have to say that I was really surprised by how the T5p gen 2 bass scales with power. I bought the Beyerdynamic balanced cable and plugged in the T5p gen 2 balanced into an audio-gd Master 11, and the bass was pounding!  I haven't tried out other basshead cans other than the Fostex TH-X00...
