Best Smartphone for audiophile
I think so. I think if you cross compare music players that don't use the HiFi DAC - Poweramp, Rocket (paid), etc., you'll find that at worst they same the same, but I think if you have the right setup, you'll notice the nuanced differences. Keep in mind that the LG V10 will driver...- Anchorless

Best Smartphone for audiophile
I came straight from the HTC One M7 to the LG V10 - there's not even a comparison between the two. My two cents. Even without the HiFI DAC, using Poweramp on both phones, I feel the LG V10 has much better control and delivery, if that makes sense. On the HTC M7 I was primarily...- Anchorless

Best Smartphone for audiophile
You can start by reading the other two V10 threads, which have been pretty detailed and instructive as to what apps/players are working and which are not. In particular, this thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/782706/lg-v10-new-ess-chipped-flagship-android-phone-from-lg At the very least...- Anchorless

LG V10 : New ESS Chipped Flagship Android Phone from LG
If you've been around for any time at all you know these are rabbit hole arguments, so as always, you just have to decide for yourself. I notice a difference between Tidal and Spotify (and Google Play). With some of my locally stored music, 90% of which is FLAC, ripped with DBPoweramp...- Anchorless

LG V10 : New ESS Chipped Flagship Android Phone from LG
I don't get the triggering thing either. Is that just a way to get Neutron to work? It doesn't seem to be an issue with other players I've tried - either they work right way with no tricks, or they simply don't work at all.- Anchorless

LG V10 : New ESS Chipped Flagship Android Phone from LG
I wanted to revisit this phone and what I'm using it with. So my LG V10 is not rooted. I am using 90% of the 200gb SD Card and internal storage. Initially I did notice some increased lag time with some apps in their interface loading songs and track information, but that seems to have...- Anchorless

LG V10 : New ESS Chipped Flagship Android Phone from LG
I've said it before, though I'm not sure if it was read... Double Twist absolutely works with the Dac. It's not as sexy as Poweramp, Neutron, or Rocket, but it's pretty good in its own right. Works well with Apple TV and Airplay. Does not work with Chromecast, at least i haven't figured it out...- Anchorless

LG V10 : New ESS Chipped Flagship Android Phone from LG
Only tried the 600s. I think they're tremendous. I'm still trying to flesh out the differences between the PM-3s and 600s with this phone. I'll try to be more helpful later. Honestly, I've spent more effort trying to set up the phone with my truck. I actually like either the stock player or...- Anchorless

LG V10 : New ESS Chipped Flagship Android Phone from LG
I've tried to keep up with this thread (and about a dozen others throughout the interwebs)... Just wanted to add more feedback. Dunno if it has been discussed yet. Hadn't seen it. So far for me I can confirm HiFi Dac working with the stock player (obviously), Google Music, and Double Twist...- Anchorless

Best Smartphone for audiophile
Honestly not an expert in this particular field, but I would wait about 6 more months. Right now the LG V10 is the sort of prototype smart phone for high level audiophile sound (see the various threads and discussion about that phone). There is a question as to the usability of the DAC...- Anchorless

LG-V10 Hi-Fi audio quality review on serious audio performance
I will still buy this phone. It hits all of the checkmarks I've been looking for. Coming from a HTC One M7, I found it lacking as a media player. So much so, I have continued using my iPod Touch 3G until a few months ago, when I decided to splurge for a iBasso DX90. I will sell the M7...- Anchorless

LG-V10 Hi-Fi audio quality review on serious audio performance
Of course there is. 1. Expandable storage up to 200+ gb. 2. Removable battery. 3. Can power cans that other phones can't. 4. Other pretty amazing features beyond the DAC.- Anchorless

LG-V10 Hi-Fi audio quality review on serious audio performance
For anyone who has tested the LG V10 with Poweramp... How does the sound compare using the V10 stock music player (with the HiFi enabled) vs. using Poweramp (obviously with no HiFi)? I wouldn't think the difference can be THAT great...- Anchorless
