I have been repeatedly charging and discharging my battery. Rookie mistake 😂 And battery care has made it more frequent.- andrewski

I've turned mine off every time. I haven't tried leaving it on standby. It does seem to "warm up" after a half hour or so from off.- andrewski

Agreed. But there would be too much argument if it was the main topic. It shouldn't work anywhere, but it works here, with some patience on both sides :)- andrewski

It's not even burnt in yet 😂 With so many doubters, it's really nice to hear another positive experience. So far there have been the same results from perfect strangers from all over the world. I still haven't heard a negative experience. @Sonywalkmanuser how did you first come about this card...- andrewski

To add to my confusion, Sony.ca has removed the ZM2 from their site. They still have the AM2 and original NW-WM1Z. Perhaps the ZM2 is discontinued in my region (Canada), or it'll show up again later?- andrewski

Oh wow! Hope it wasn't serious / everyone is safe. I'm not far north in Ontario, we're due for (hopefully) a minor earthquake. thesonyshop.ca has been out of stock of ZM2 for almost two weeks, and they've changed the price in the last 24 hours. I'm sure it's a mistake.- andrewski

Is this a joke? thesonyshop.ca has slashed $3000 off the ZM2. Of course none are in stock at the moment. I bet the "sale" ends before they're in stock 😂- andrewski

Unfortunately I don't have the 1R. I do have and love the MDR-Z7M2 and enjoy with a balanced cable. However it is slightly less portable, and I wonder how it sounds with more power. The MDR-1A does not ask for more power. I haven't heard the MDR-1AM2 :) I find the 1A more musical and more fun...- andrewski

My flavours of the week is AM2 with MDR-1A unbalanced Kimber and a Swissbit. Highly portable with a complete sound. I could (should) be happy with this forever. Need new earpads though :)- andrewski

Just curious, and maybe you don't want to open this can of worms at the moment, but did you compare all the cards to the internal storage? Where they all preferable? Or just different? And I imagine there'd be differences on different devices (Shanling/Sony) :)- andrewski

Looking for Player Replacement
I hope this isn't a silly question.Have you considered the modern Sony players? They are very expensive at near $500 to $5000. But they all have buttons, support microSD cards, and have better battery life than the competition. My Sony NW-WM1AM2 gets over 20 hours per charge. Be warned that Sony...- andrewski

Such a joy to read! Thank you very much :) This is pure gold, I hope some in the industry read this, perhaps start marketing for sound. This kinda gives me cause to have multiple brands for different flavours. I like the Metal type IV analogy as well ❤️- andrewski

I'm a big believer in 44.1khz 16-bit. When I said earlier that I was enjoying the convenience of Bluetooth, it wasn't all that convenient because every single time I connect, I go to developer options and switch to 44.1khz, 16-bit, and "best quality" which is 909kbps in my case :)- andrewski

I vote rip your CD's. Downloaded CD quality is not as good as downloaded Hi Res. But locally ripped CD's sound better than downloaded anything. IMHO :)- andrewski

I completely agree. The greater transparency of AM2 benefits from a lower noise floor :) These devices deserve a Swissbit ❤️- andrewski

My ultra brief comparison between AM2 and ZM2 post fw1.08 based entirely on memory. (Both recently switched to Japanese from English) The sound signatures are closer than before. Without understanding what a copper chassis and Kimber cable can do to the sound, it seemed obvious before that...- andrewski
