I will have to give that a try. I didn't like the MF ECL-03 on the Thror.

I own the Thror. For the most part I like the standard foam ECL-01 best on them. I don't own the MF version ECL-01 so I can't compare it. My second favorite would be the standard foam ECL-02.

Is this kind of like a cross between the Blue Hawaii and the KGSSHV Carbon? Do you know ow its sound compares to the other Blue Hawaii or the KGSSHV?

The only difference is the use of the mini xlr instead of the standard 1/8" plug. Kennerton is changing all their headphones to use the mini xlr.

How does the amp sound?

I have really enjoyed the Bottlehead Mainline with the Rognir. The TORBalanced also works well but is much more tube dependent that the Bottlehead.

I kinda had the same experiance with the VC. It is a great headphone but the sound signature really didn't work for me. I much preferred the Rognir Planar over it.

When I bought my Rognir, they are the current version. I requested they replaced the stock with the ECL-03 pads and ECL-02 MF pads. So I never got the stock pads. Now that shipping cost as much as a pair of pads. I wish I would have gotten the ECL-01 MF with them too. Since that is the only pad...

I believe it is the ECL-01 MF.

I owned both at one point, a couple years ago. I don't remember a whole lot about the differences between them. From what I remember. The Diamond is more detailed, has better high end, and more neutrally tuned compared to the HP1. I think the HP1 had more bass just because it was a warmer...

As far as I'm aware, the HLD/HLP are 2 headphones not many people have heard on this thread.

I do have a couple of perforated suede pads I would like to try on it once I get a chance.

I haven't tried any other pads. I was just cleaning up and remember that someone had recommended I try the pads. I can try different pads after the holidays.

It is pretty loose. Though, I don't think it would come off.

I did end up trying the the solid ZMF Universal pads. You are right they add a lot of bass to the Thror. Bass I didn't know the Thror could have. So that is pretty interesting. I haven't had a chance to really listen to them.

Is that a marble base?

I doubt it is a burn in problem since everything they sell is burnt in for 300 hours before it leaves there store.

Does the problem occur with the oversampling off?

That doesn't sound good. I never had those problems with my R8MK2. I would send a message to Kingwa right away.
