[Review] Schiit Modi 2 Uber, Magni 2 Uber, and Vali 2
The rattle had me worried when I unpacked the Modi 2 Uber. Felt like cheap chinese stuff which I know it isn't (been reading the Schiit stories). But fortunately it does not hinder the modi in it's performance.- Soepkip

Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers
To be honest I have read the excellent thread\review on among others the HG Reflektors. Really really good stuff and at first I though HG was a brand or specific type. Took me a couple of minutes before I realized HG is Holy Grail, best of the best, unobtanium like. Also through the other...- Soepkip

NEW Schiit Lyr 2: Impressions
It gets warm, but hot is an overstatement. Am able to put my hand on it even after running it for hours. Would not touch the tubes since they are running warmer and bare touching of tubes reduces life expectancy anyway. Also putting the lyr in a closed cabinet would not be a good plan. As...- Soepkip

Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers
Where did you get the HGs? I'm looking for a reliable source for tubes in Europe. From what I've read most Russian and Ukranian ebay sellers are not reliable. And Kevin decided not to ship to Europe anymore. Any tips here or via pm are much appreciated.- Soepkip

Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers
The Lyr is a very nice amp for the price. I love mine and think you will like yours. Enjoy it! In my experience the Tubemonger socket saver work great. Sometimes you pull them out together with the tube, but it saves fiddling to get the tubes out. And they help in getting the pins straight...- Soepkip

Instructions regarding the installation of USB DAC driver on the X3 1st gen
I hate the fact that we need to turn off driver signing before we can use a Fiio device with a PC. Driver signing is one of the protection mechanisms against malware and system abuse. What is the issue with getting some signed drivers from Fiio? Other vendors supply signed drivers. Why... -
Official Schiit Vali 2 Thread
Good to hear that is has low noise level. According to Schiit the noise on the first Vali was too high for IEMs. Apparently that was fixed for the second iteration of the Vali. Now I have to really think hard and count my pennies. Buy a new Vali 2. Or opt for a good 2nd hand Lyr 2 at 1.5...- Soepkip

In-ear monitor for Fiio X1
The Mee can hardly be beat at their price level. I love mine for on the go and sports. The ma750 are much more bassy and quite heavy im comparison.- Soepkip

A Raspberry Pi, an NAS, and an iBasso DX50
I settled for Volumio, a hifiberry expansion board and a wireless NIC for streaming webradio and Flac from my NAS through the Pi. Started out with a pi only and kept adding stuff until it sounded right to me. Without the expansion board and the wireless nic I could not get transparant high...- Soepkip

MEElectronics M6 PRO vs. Shure SE215?
I like the neutral sound of the M6Pro, but if you are looking for bass then the Shure is a better choice. At least from what I get from reading the shure reviews (never did firect comparison). Fyi there is a massdrop running on the 215s. Almost bought them, but after reading more reviews I...- Soepkip

[SOLVED] Need help picking portable earphones under $160
While lurking I considered the Hifiman RE400 and RHA MA750 next to the Titans and mentioned Yamaha. I bought the Titan and MHA. Love them both, but prefer the clarity and lesser bass on the Titan. The openness and half in-ear I can forgive the Titans because they sound so good.- Soepkip

Is Hi-Fi wasted on older ears?
It is not wasted as long as you enjoy and appreciate it. Don't look at technical measurements and statistics. Listen and decide what works for you. For years I though quality audio equipment was wasted on me. Recently I started listening through headphones and realized that I enjoy it very...- Soepkip

which headphones should I buy?
I've tried the X2 in a local electronics shop and the leakage seemed reasonable, but I guess you're right. However nice they all sound, they still leak. I guess I'm stuck with IEMs for now and ned to do exploration for a good closed set of cans. On the positive side I can do a lot of research...- Soepkip

Headphones from Japan? Legit? Saying Hi.
It look legit, but ask yourselves how much you are saving. The price is lower, but what about import tax, customs duties, etc for your country? And there is always the issue with warranty if something breaks or malfunctions and you have to ship it back. I buy a lot of stuff all over the...- Soepkip

which headphones should I buy?
I tried the 598 but people around me started complaining about being able to enjoy also what I was listening to. Iow the sennheisers were too open for me.
