    Help Head-Fi $$$$$

Jude has repeatedly said he will NOT accept direct donations as he believes that no one should feel obligated to donate to Head-Fi. I believe he has stated that Head-Fi will get its money solely from sponsors and always keep Head-Fi absolutely cost free to the users. If you want to support...

    Electrostatic vs. Dynamic Headphones

The fact of the matter is that CD's are much more practical than any analog format. CD's don't deteriorate over time, become warped, and are far more common. I can buy almost any release available on redbook, not so w/ cassette or vinyl. The amount of new releases on vinyl is so pathetic that it...

GIFT suggestion: mini system for family

I bought my "Mini System" (KEF Reference Series Speakers), Pioneer SX2300 Amp, and Denon CD Player for a grand total of 80 dollars. (36 Speakers + 20 each for the Amp, CDP). You can score AMAZING deals at thrift stores. The speakers here alone sell for 700 dollars on Ebay.

Does PM System suck on Head-Fi?

Many large forums limit the size of the inbox to 10 messages! Quote: Originally posted by Pepsione1 The PM has never failed me (yet) and i think its a very good tool. However, I still think that the message limit should be increased to 250+.

    If Head-Fi required...

10 Dollars a year maximum! I think a registration system like Something Awful is a far better idea. This system does troll control for you and although it restricts new members those new members have to be serious enough about participating in the forum to justify the 10 bucks.

    My first computer...

Buy two HD's. Makes formatting, backing up, and a multitude of other things so much easier. You can buy like a 10-20GB HD for system and a 60 for everything else.

    Ad banner idea - Jude

A banner in the top right under all the buttons such as "register, usercp, calender etc...) would be far less intrusive. I find the scheme such as on www.genmay.com to be the least intrusive but still noticeable.
