Is it cool to connect a bass guitar straight to a headphone tube amp?

Or is it somehow endangering the amp?   Thanks!

    Beyerdynamic's DT150 vs. DT770 vs. DT770M: I'm looking for noise isolating cans

I only ever tried the DT990 "Premium", which apparently is less clamping than the Pro's, and it puts quite a bit of pressure on the top of my head. I wonder if the more clamping variety would take the load off (Fannie!!) of my scalp and put it on my ears instead; that would be preferable.

    Beyerdynamic's DT150 vs. DT770 vs. DT770M: I'm looking for noise isolating cans

Sure does! Thank you! It sounds like a pair I wouldn't mind owning myself. But about the comfort, are you able to enjoy them for hours at a time with no pain?

    Beyerdynamic's DT150 vs. DT770 vs. DT770M: I'm looking for noise isolating cans

Thanks! Sounds like the DT770Ms sound good! So how do you like their noise isolation? Does it really beat all other cans? Also, are they comfortable? And are their sibilants as brain-stabbingly painful as the DT990s's?

Looking for a solid state amp for the AKG K7XX

Huh, that's interesting. What is this Class thing, and how do you know which amp is which?

Looking for a solid state amp for the AKG K7XX

Wow, thanks for letting me know that. I was, in fact, worried about my already hot environment. If the non-tube amps get so hot, I might just stick to the tube amp that I actually already have, and hope autumn comes early this year. Thanks again!

Looking for a solid state amp for the AKG K7XX

I was hoping to get a non-tube amp, hoping it wouldn't get as hot. Would it be worth it to get the Asgard 2 rather than the Magni? Also, how would the Matrix M-Stage compare?

Just the amp. I will connect it to a Little Dot DAC_I

    Beyerdynamic's DT150 vs. DT770 vs. DT770M: I'm looking for noise isolating cans

Thanks! I think I might grab the DT150 tomorrow. They say they are awfully uncomfortable, but people dig their sound, and I already have the 990 so I figure I'll diversify with the 150...   I really hope I'll be able to try em out at the store. Thing is I already have a closed back pair, the...

    Beyerdynamic's DT150 vs. DT770 vs. DT770M: I'm looking for noise isolating cans

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I hear the 770 is quite isolating, and the 770M version prides itself with even better sound isolation, achieved by having some holes sealed up and different pad material, I think. I was wondering how they compare to the DT150.

    Beyerdynamic's DT150 vs. DT770 vs. DT770M: I'm looking for noise isolating cans

Hey fellers,   Summer is rough and I am currently forced to do my quality home listening with an incredibly loud AC unit right in my face. So I am looking for good noise isolating headphones. So far I have my eyes mainly on Beyer's DT150, DT770 or DT770M, but I am open to other suggestion in...

New DT990s clicking on heavy bass songs?

Ah, okay, that's fair. Thank you very much! This track was apparently produced by some guy named "Beck", I'll be sure to send him an invoice if it turns out my cans are now permanently damaged! :)

New DT990s clicking on heavy bass songs?

Thanks a lot!   I need to play it quite loud for the headphones to start clicking. But it's still more or less in the area of acceptable listening volume, for me at least. Certainly on the louder side, though. Like I said, I'm using the Little Dot MKII tube amp and it can get pretty loud. I'm...

New DT990s clicking on heavy bass songs?

Nope, it is an official lossless digital release bought online. I'm getting the very same problem with the YouTube version of this track. The clicks are not in the track itself, guys, they're clearly the headphones messing up past a certain volume. Maybe that's normal, but I was hoping someone...

New DT990s clicking on heavy bass songs?

The headphones are very new, so I've yet to have the chance to listen to a whole lot of songs you see. I don't believe there is a problem with the track itself, so I'm wondering if my DT990s are behaving normally and whether maybe there's something wrong with them.

New DT990s clicking on heavy bass songs?

Sorry, I'm talking about the song linked in my OP.   I'm using a LIttle Dot DAC_I with a Little Dot MKII tube amp

New DT990s clicking on heavy bass songs?

Even that specific Hey Joe cover? Because that's about the only one I've had clicking with yet, its bass is literally making my ears wiggle. Are you amplifying it hard enough?

New DT990s clicking on heavy bass songs?

I'm using a LIttle Dot DAC_I with a Little Dot MKII tube amp. The source is lossless and official, and I don't think is to blame. The clicks are quite loud and mechanical sounding, and don't show up gradually when slowly turning up the volume, but rather appear suddenly when a certain volume...

New DT990s clicking on heavy bass songs?

I'm fairly new to this, but I just spent what I consider to be irresponsible amounts of money on a DAC, an amp and these cans. Right off the bat I was frightened but how terribly, brain-bleedingly bright these headphones are, but I rectified that by ordering the HD650s and taking the 6k and 12k...
