Romaz have u heard the trinity Dac by any chance? I have seen many say it is the finest pcm dac. I know Dave is quit good for pcm just wondered how it was against the best- drabbish

i have seen some people that own a chord dave and berkeley reference dac so they are both quite good on high end 2 channel systems. that says alot since the berkeley is suppose to be one of the better dacs for pcm. the nice thing about the dave it has the headphone amp and usb connector. with the 3.5 cable i got hiss, with the fiio cable and nx10 cable i never appreciated a hiss with the micro. with the imicro i only ran it on battery never use it running usb with power input and data- drabbish

with the hiss u need to turn down the media output setting in the zx2, its default is max. i set mine to 75% and use my amp to get the db I need with better results. hiss is minimal- drabbish

i use the zx2 with roxannes and ie800. the amp section is perfectly fine, with my lcd3f i run a imicro via a fiio cable the removes the amp only, sounds amazing. as a transport with the n10 cable it works well but does jitter. overall if i could just transport out more then 16/44 i would think...- drabbish

My opinion is if you need to go over 50% for most listening then no it cannot drive them, when u go to 75% volume that doesn't leave much headroom to db changes- drabbish

they are actually really good but the two above are just that much better. the lcd3 sound 3d and spacious, but they are open back. these things are impressive but do need amp power the roxannes have more micro details and space, bass is more refined. but dont get me wrong the...- drabbish
