Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but I'm listening to Diana Kroll on the RS2is using the Panasonic SA-XR55 receiver's HP out & in no way is this a second class ride.  

I'm listening to the Brahms Double Concerto using RS2is while wearing glasses & had to touch my ears to confirm this. Perhaps you're wearing the wrong style of glasses.

RS2i. All my others are just phones.

Grados aren't good bedphones b/c they make you lie flat on your back -who rests like that? Buy bed buds like MX400, 580 or IEMs like RE2s, etc.  

  Start cheap: SR60i, SR80i, MS1. If you like what you hear, go directly to RS2i or beyond. Don’t waste money on middle Grados.

K501s with K701 pads for comfort because I must wear them forever.

When I stopped listening to phones and switched back to speakers my ears problems stopped too.
