I have a different gripe than most in this thread. Personally, although I acknowledge that they are nowhere near the top of the heap anymore, I really like my A18t's. But I have never, ever said to myself, "gosh, I wish I had a more powerful amp to drive them to their full potential."

After a lot of procrastination, I sat down today to try and solder together a DIY cable I made a few years ago with new terminations for my HiFiMan headphones and 4.4 TRRS. I haven't got the eyesight, equipment, or patience for this anymore. Is there anybody in this thread who will solder this...

I'm one of those people who thinks "sound good" means "the output sounds like the input." You know: fidelity. Measurements are perfectly good at determining that.

This may all be true, but I don't think I've ever seen a dual-9038Q2M dac that measures as well as a single 9038 Pro. And this tracks with my subjective impressions. The Pro is just a really, really good chip. Would a listener benefit from having two of 'em? Sure.

Good caps will protect your sound from running out of short-term power, but they don't provide electricity above that which has been sucked out of the phone. If your dongle needs lots of power, the phone has to provide it.

I just printed a baffle in my LED resin printer, and there's no way I can give up my office for the week it would take me to get the process dialed in and run all six parts. And Shapeways is expensive enough (approx. $150) that I could almost buy a cheap filament printer. Are there Head-Fiers...

You know, I was wrong. Although iFi doesn't typically post noise and distortion numbers, the website does list a .005 THD/N number for the Gryphon. I'm too much of a clean signal fetishist for that to work for me, but at least they're trying.

I've decided to use this project as a way to resuscitate my T40 build from several years ago, which is in the "iterate until you finally break the damned thing" category right now. I don't have enough screws. If I'm going to buy new screws, what's the way to go?
