Dolby headphone with music... magical!
I recently got a new soundcard, the Asus Xonar DG, and have been using the Dolby headphone mode while playing Skyrim. Just a week ago I've set up my headphone rig again (DT880 and Corda HA-1 mkII) and been using it with the Xonar DG. So after a session of Skyrim I still had the dolby headphone...- TMC

Sony NWZ-E354 or NWZ-S754?
Hello everyone, I'm looking into a new portable source since the 2GB memory on my original Clip is getting annoyingly small. I've found some older Sony 8GB players(Sony NWZ-E354 and NWZ-S754) for a decent price and was wondering if anyone has some experience with either player, or if I'm lucky...- TMC

Soundmagic P30, badly matched drivers?
Hello everyone, as most of you I've been reading a lot on the massive portable headphone shootout before my purchase. In the end I went with the Soundmagic P30. I just received them today and noticed there's a clear unbalance right out of the box, as the left driver is clearly louder than the...- TMC

New in-ear from Cresyn
I've recently been looking for some quite affordable canalphones and just about made my decision to go for Creative EP-630 when I came across a newly released contender from Cresyn: LMX-E630 . Anyone got some (p)reviews or additional info about these?- TMC

CD1700 replacement pads?
I've had my CD1700 for a year now and the earpads are getting a bit too compressed for comfort during longer sessions. Since the earpads can't be found for sale anymore I was wondering if anyone had success using pads from another headphone on the CD1700 without any bigger impact on the sound?- TMC

Questions for DT880 users
I'm currently using the CD1700 which I find to be a fun and a quite enjoyable headphone, but sometimes I feel they can lack a bit in detail and instrumental/vocal separation. So reading a bit in the headphone review forum I find the descriptions of DT880 fairly intriguing, especially when...- TMC

My impressions from searching for a home source (NAD and Cambridge Azure)
I've spent a couple of hours during the past 2 days to (finally) find myself a good < $500 stationary cdplayer and have some impressions that might be useful for someone in a similar situation as me. The store I visited allowed me to use my own gear to audition the cdplayers (Meta42 and CD1700)...- TMC

Pioneer 563A vs NAD 521BEE or Cambridge D500SE/Azur 540C for redbook?
I'm doing some research for a new stationary cd-player that will be purchased in a not too distant future. Now with all these new formats available I'm considering a "do-it-all" player with both DVD-A and SACD to go with redbook. The only player of that kind that is available in my vicinity...- TMC

Bisarre problems due to headphones
I got home early today and with some spare time I spent it, yeah you guessed it, by listening to music, especially with my new pair of MS-1. So after a few hours of enjoying that I decided to buy some groceries. But before I went out I remembered I must have that classical "headphone hair" and...- TMC

MS-1 are in the house, quick SR60 comparison
Shopping online without a credit card sure can take its' time, but finally the MS-1 have arrived. I already have a pair of SR60 and the curiosity finally got the better of me, reading about how these have a great price/performance ratio. With both headphones using modded Senn pads and having...- TMC

Sony D-66 (PCDP) sounds darn good
I'm especially impressed by the headphone out, it almost matches my Meta42 through its' lineout. Having looked at the display quite a few times now, I think we need a petition to bring back the orange backlight Are there any other owners out there enjoying this player? I notice there have been...- TMC

My under construction E3c impressions thread
I got a pair of E3c mailed to me today as an early birthday gift, and I've spent the entire day playing around with all these different tips. I got them from a local webshop that has a 30 day refund for $15 (probably the cost of a new fit-kit), which convinced me to go for it despite the rather...- TMC

Some rock recommendations?
I've recently been enjoying Evanscence and a couple of Linkin Park albums, and am looking for more that have a similar sound. Maybe someone here can point me to any other bands/albums that I should know of? I'm getting a pair of MS-1 soon and would really like to spoil them with this particular... -
Suggestions about climbing up the Grado/Alessandro line
I currently own a pair of SR60 and have recently become more interested in rock after purchasing Evancence's album and listening more to Linkin Park. While the SR60 gives me plenty of enjoyable impact, I can't help but feel they are a bit rough around the edges sonically (and in build quality...- TMC

Lighthouse family, my newest addiction
I've been totally addicted to Lighthouse family for the past 2 weeks, listening to their 3 albums all the time. If you don't know about them, read more here where you can actually listen to their newest album. The funny thing is I heard them for the first time 4 years ago, as my sis bought me... -
Current PCDP suck... based on what?
Being an owner of a fairly new PCDP and having tested a few others that sound pretty good I can't help but wonder about a conclusion that is commonly accepted here: Current PCDP suck. So I gather there must be a lot of people that have tried a bunch of new PCDP of a wide variety of brands that...- TMC

How many CD1700 owners out there?
I've had the CD1700 for a couple of weeks and I'm fully enjoying them every day, especially with the AD8620 Meta42 that works great with the warm nature of the CD1700. Since they're discontinued I rarely see anyone talk about these anymore, so out of curiosity I was wondering how many of you...- TMC

My headphone jack days are over
I got the Meta42 that I ordered from tigger today and been playing around with it playing different songs. First I went through 2 songs from my current favorite album with acoustic guitar (check my thread in the music forum a couple of days ago). And although I really enjoyed the sound I wasn't...- TMC

latino, rumba and flamenco guitar anyone?
I was downtown walking past one of the central squares, when I saw someone setting up some speakers and had a guitar with him. So out of curiosity I decided to stop and see what he was about to play, frankly not expecting a lot. But when he got going it was really good, so good I stayed for 5... -
What is the diameter of a quarter?
Yes this does have to do with headphones I've just got the Grado SR60 today and I find the bass a bit too boomy using the comfy pads or the Senn pads without modding. So I have these funky yellow Sennheiser pads and to mod them you put a hole the size of a quarter in the middle, but the thing...- TMC

Joshua Redman - Freedom in the groove: similar jazz?
Hey everyone. I've recently bought a pair of CD1700 from a head-fi member and been throwing all kinds of music at them and they've yet to disappoint. A few days ago I borrowed some CD:s from the library and amongst them was an album I had no idea what would be offered once I push that play... -
Supermini V6 and Meta42 for the same price?
Hey everyone. I'm looking through all kinds of info before purchasing my first amp and it's a real jungle out there. I've at least managed to cut it down to 2 options, a Meta42 (at least daily transportable) or a supermini V6. But since it's really hard to get a good idea of how good a Meta42...- TMC

Flexible Meta42?
I'm currently reading up on amps and right now I'm considering a Meta42 for a near future purchase/DIY. One thing I'm looking for is a flexible amp, that is with the possibility to change the amp itself for different sonic characteristics and changing the gain to be more suitable for the...- TMC

Sony D-FJ401 impressions and comparisons?
I've recently read a bit about this pcdp and it's one of very few models that seems to be considered good both out of line-out and headphone jack that can still be found fairly easily in Europe. That makes me wonder how the Sony D-FJ401 compares with other discontinued models like the Pana...- TMC

Sweet female vocal - Swedish artist (in English)
A couple of days ago I went to my local library and saw some cd:s that I could borrow free of charge. So I flipped through them and brought home some I thought might be interesting. One of these CD:s are of a Swedish female singer named Dilba and she released an album 1996 that I think was...
