Closed back unamped for acoustic classical and folk?
Up to 350GBP For: . Clarity . Precision . Natural, neutral sound . Good imaging and soundstaging . Low listener fatigue For listening to acoustic sound: . Piano . Cello . Human voice It's for very quiet low volume listening (but I guess I could EQ the bass if need be). To be used direct with...- Minstrel59

Rick What did you like about the X2/27? P.S. I wonder if anyone has done the stats on these results (almost as mammoth a task as that kind chap who bought and reviewed that huge list of headphones)?- Minstrel59

HPH MT220 vs DT150 vs DT250 250 ohm
I'd love to read everyone (whose heard these 3)'s opinions on how they compare? My preference is for an experience that is: . Without amping . For listening to (and appreciating) vocal talent and acoustic music . Sibilance free smooooooth treble . Honest and real (whatever that may be?)...- Minstrel59

Warmest sound with softest treble? The 215, 315 or 425?
Thankyou! Its for acoustic music e.g. Joni Mitchell J.S.Bach choral and chamber. I did want a neutral sound but after trying Shure 940s I realised I will have to only listen to whatever IEM's or headphones that I can tolerate. To avoid ear pain I reckon I need: A soft treble A warm sound And...- Minstrel59

Female voice and piano? Closed back up to £375
I do like that look though. Its functional. Many reviewers seem to have got the impression that most if not all of the Beyer range has a treble that some will be unable to tolerate. I played the 940s last night and I mean really quietly but I now have sore ears (I have Hyperacusis) So my ears...- Minstrel59

Thanks nicolars and everyone for your help. Sounds like the 1540 will give everything except the isolation. I've had several strong recommendations on Yamaha HPH MT220 and DT150. Have you heard either of these?- Minstrel59

Female voice and piano? Closed back up to £375
How about at 'tickover' or 'just above tickover' i.e. just audible plus 1 notch on the volume say? The appeal of the 770 seems to be emphasised bass (to complement ultra low volume listening). Sparkly top end (to complement same). Good isolation. I WANT a neutral sound really though. Its a...- Minstrel59
