Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
You're welcome! I had the same problem when I received my Blu2in May last year. On one pair of BNCs it has dropouts every minute or so. I changed to the others and problem solved. Enjoy it- oscarnr

Yes, it could be that connectors were not perfectly connected in the 1&2 position -the Zensati cables are stiff and could be slightly "forced" in that position-. Anyway I simply changed them and never had any issue. Hope that resolves your problem @jlbrach- oscarnr

When I first connected Blu2 to DAVE (with high quality coax cables) using 1&2 I had some dropouts (less than a second) every minute or so. I changed the connection to 3&4 and that dropouts dissapeared immediately. It's been more than a year since that.- oscarnr

:) Back to topic, the MScaler seems a steal for that price. After more than 1 year with the Blu2 it is very difficult to go without it, and the MScaler seems to be, at least, as good as the Blu2. I have used the CD only a few times (all my files are CDrips but I need DSP in my room, so I get...- oscarnr

Questyle QP2R
Hi. I posted this in the CA Andromeda thread. I share it with all of you: I've been using CA Andromeda (balanced) with my new Questyle QP2R (I previously had a QP1R) for some days and the sound is awesome. With the standard 3.5 Litz cable the sound is just fantastic, slightly dark but very...- oscarnr

Campfire Audio - Introducing 2 new models Hello Andromeda and Nova
I've been using CA Andromeda (balanced) with my new Questyle QP2R (I previously had a QP1R) and the sound is awesome. With the standard 3.5 Litz cable the sound is just fantastic, slightly dark but very inviting and open enough; you can listen to it for hours. The balanced Litz cable with QP2R...- oscarnr

I usually read this thread and agree with you. I have a Blu2 for 9 months now, put a (good) pair of BNC cables on it and never looked back. Too much ferrites talk. I believe the Blu2 is simply stellar with little more. Best to all- oscarnr

It is difficult to explain but I think that my experience is similar to yours. After 3 months with BluDave I feel that music is more real, has more presence, more detail but less listening fatigue. I stop listening because I am tired of being seated, not because music get on my nerves. Bad...- oscarnr

I add one more. You could try the new Phasure Lush USB cable. I have been living with a Tellurium Q Black Diamond for 4 years (very happy with it, it made me give up looking for USB cables) and also tried in the past the ubiquitous Curious cable, audioquest, wireworld, etc cables. Always I...- oscarnr

CD compartment is a disaster. Very cumbersome to change CD. I have a large collection of CDs (I lost how large long time ago, but more than 5K). Nowadays I rip them with dBpoweramp and use Amarra with IRC correction. Easier- oscarnr

Hi. Set up and enjoy. In my case I had strange dropouts (less than a second) when connected BNC cables (not the supplied) to BNC 1+2 in my DAVE. I changed to BNC 3+4 and everything fabulous. Enjoy the BluDave- oscarnr

Not in my case. Same music, a lot of genres (jazz, 60-00s rock (a lot of bad and good recorded indie music ), electronic music, reggae, nigerian music, brazilian music, XXs classical composers, some Bach, funk, soul, etc) but more intensively. I should say 90% of it sounds clearly better. The...- oscarnr

Short answer: Yes! This evening I've been listening for example to Rolling Stones' sticky fingers (Bob Ludwing remaster) and the sound was simply awesome. Like the best analog gear. Holographic and tonally perfect, dense sound. Later Alice Coltrane's "World Spirituality Classics 1: The...- oscarnr

Blu2+DAVE really means DAVE2. It could not only considered a complement or add-on. I feel it like a new level of sound. When I thought redbook (all my music are CD rips plus some bandcamp AIFFs) couldn't be better, here comes the Blu2 to prove me wrong. Soundstage width and depth are...- oscarnr

Hi, thanks. I assume that that is the point and is also my explanation to why the Blu2 is being warm. So standby is really only for the CDplayer, since the Mscaler is active. You have to turn of the switch at the rear panel to fully turn off the Blu2- oscarnr

Sorry Rob. I don't fully understand this. I have played music from my macbook connecting an USB cable to Blu2 and DAVE showing Double-BNC 705.6 KHz with the unit in stand by mode, with the CD player in stand-by. Is this correct? No digital silence in my unit, it is fully working. Thanks Oscar- oscarnr

I didn't understand you correctly, what did you mean by changing to connect Dave to Blu2 via BNC2&E. AFAK from Blu2 manual you have to connect Dave to Blu2 via connectors shown no.9 in manual. Sorry, it's a typo. I connected the BNC cables to DAVE's BNC plug 3 and 4. Problem solved- oscarnr
