$ git log --oneline include/linux/usb/audio.h ... 8fee4aff8c89 ALSA: usbaudio: introduce new types for audio class v2 ... $ git name-rev 8fee4aff8c89 8fee4aff8c89 tags/v2.6.34-rc1~3^2~5^2~4 So likely anything v2.6.35 and later, +- bugs and the like has UAC2.

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

One function that might be of interest in the gadget++ might be an upsampler with the megaburrio filter. Something akin to the Chord M-scaler, but schiitier. Esp. if the thing has USB host functionality it could push out stupid high rates.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Oh nice! I own - and have owned for over a decade - the vM PA333. I got them serviced and upgraded two years ago, since they already had a balanced design, I also had an XLR in fitted. I have always enjoyed these amps, they are by far the oldest components I still have.

    Audio-Gd R-28 impressions thread

Ha! My NFB28 is almost all copper these days. Good thing my R2R-1 and NFB-1 amp are in my office, which because of monitor glare and books rarely if ever gets direct sunlight. I suppose you could bring the panels to a local metal shop, but I could never care enough myself. Edit - spelling.

    New Audio-gd R-7, R-7HE R-8, R-27, R-27HE, R-28 Flagship Resistor Ladder DACs and DAC/amps

AFAIK there is only a single update for the R2R-1 so far. I still have to order one of them USB Blaster thingies off of ebay myself -- and get a copy of the Altera tools for Linux.

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

Still really like my Sundara but I've not heard many of the competing headphones :-( I made myself a silver plated OCC cable for it though, terminated with a 2.5mm TRRS jack in order to drive it balanced for around 75USD worth of parts off of ebay (I already had a XLR4 to 2.5 TRRS female...

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

I've not tried myself yet, but earlier in the thread: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/hifiman-sundara-he400i-upgraded-around-500.860413/page-70#post-14183422

    Audio-Gd R-28 impressions thread

Dang.. I _did_ just buy them. This R2R-28 looks really pretty, but I suppose I'll just have to live with the separates.

    Audio-gd R2R DAC Thread

Clearly you like this combo; I've been on the fence a bit and got scared by the reviews on that other forum that called the NFB-1 all sorts of horrible -- compressed, smeared/blurry and lacking impact/dynamics were things said about it. Also a profound lack of bass (and me being somewhat of a...

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

I still have my sundara, that is, I didn't return it, despite my obvious misgivings right after unboxing. Build quality still isn't what I expect from a 500 eur product, the yoke to headband assembly is wobbly and there is a finish issue with one of the screws that attaches the earcup to the...

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

I mostly want a balanced cable, I might pick a more expensive one if I can find one in the right budget, but these things either seem 'cheap' or stupid dollar, I've not found much middle ground. My main beef with the stock cable is that it's not really flexible and likes to roll back up.

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

I myself was going to go for this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075BZ585B/ But only if I decide to keep the phones...

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

I just received my Sundara, on first physical impression I almost instantly returned it. Very poor build for a 500 (EUR in my case) product. The connection between the yoke en headband is cheap plastic and very loose on the left side. There was slightly more clamping force than I'm comfortable...

    Watts Up...?

Hi @Rob Watts, maybe a silly question; but have you considered using multiple FPGAs instead of one giant one? That is; when oversampling 4x we could use 16 parallel FPGAs to concurrently compute the 16 new samples from the 'one' old sample (or 15 if WTA preserves the original sample).

    Watts Up...?

Of course the instruments don't make sound before they are played. However that is an argument in continuous time. The samples that make up digital audio happen in the discrete time domain, and here they actually can. The note can very well start between two samples. It is the ringing in the...

FiiO Q5, Flagship DAC/Amp, an Dual DAC, USB/Optical/Coaxial/Line in, share the same amp module with X7.

OK, got the BlueDAC and assembled a 2.5 TRRS to XLR4 adapter cable to connect my Alpha Dogs. It drives them no problem (60-70% in high gain). Sounds really good. And given the Aeon Flow phones are easier to drive than this older model you should not have any trouble driving them. Heck, for...

    New Audio-gd R-7, R-7HE R-8, R-27, R-27HE, R-28 Flagship Resistor Ladder DACs and DAC/amps

A filter with that property for 16bit would have a window size around a million taps. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/watts-up.800264/page-23#post-13772435

Right, so I have the DAC, but the 2.5mm jack required to make an XLR adapter to my balanced Alpha Dogs seems to be stuck in the postal system somewhere between Singapore and here.

Depends on the amp module, the default AM3A comes in at 1.7Ohm IIRC.

@Pietro Cozzi Tinin, @HumanFly, @wout31 and any other dutch people that may be reading along. Check out: http://apollo-ensemble.nl If they play in a venue near you, they play baroque music with historical instruments and historical tuning. Very much worth the time, if you're interested in...

I should take delivery of a Centrance Bluedac soon, I'll let you know how well it drives my Alpha Dogs.

Better yet, do that aptx-hd thing as a later firmware update and release now :)
