I would probably recommend saving about $50 more and picking up a used Hifiman Sundara. Ive never heard any of the other hifiman headphones you listed but I found the sundaras used for like $240.

I just picked up the DCA Ether CX last week and I am very much enjoying it. It has some oddly negative reviews but I really think that after the recommended burn in and with some of the tuning pads on it can become my favorite closed back

Definitely the Hd650 by a large margin. With some EQ for sub bass they sound amazing. The planars are alright ehh, I’ve been waiting on a SS amp for like a month now to use with them

I cant endorse the Drop + Beyerdynamic DT177x GO for metal music any more, I have them and absolutely love them. Crunchy fast bass with the leather pads and so detailed. Look for them in classifieds here or on AVexchange, you can usually find them for around $250, I found mine on facebook...

You could look into rainmeter for PC if you want something just kinda fun to look at. I used to use it pretty often and it was neat

I have the LCD-3, while i haven't heard the 2C I can attest that they sound pretty amazing. Throwing some EQ into the mix to tame the treble really makes these headphones amazing.
