    Well just like many other people here recommended, I too recommend you to try out the Audio Technica Ath - M50 as ur first pair.. They go for about 100$, and sound great also the built quality is pretty good. If u then somehow feel anything lacking in them then you should buy something...

    man idk what you are using them with , but I use the with my fiio X3 and these sound perfectly great to me..don't eq them just use a decent dac/amp nd these will sound as good as anything, i got these after returning shure se215

    these are as good as they can get for their price point, got them after returning shure se215, detachable cable is too unreliable in them..plus they lack the bass.. only con i felt with them is the highs get a little too sharp in rare cases,which is a good thing whren u are watching v shows...
