You can use either. Measured impedance at the source for low on the WA6SE is 15 Ohm and the high impedance is 50 Ohm. Your headphones are pretty efficient at 104db/mW so you shouldn't have an issue with either jack. See which one is quieter and allows you good volume control.

It's supposed to get hot - that's not an issue. The recommendation is to leave it on constantly. The Analog Devices chips they use for the DAC's (not designed for audio by custom) work best at higher temperatures. The left side would be warmer because that's where the power supply section is.

Back when I purchased the amp, I did ask Birgir what the swing voltage was via. e-mail and this was his reply -    (I was asking about his opinion on the 007MK1 vs MK2 with the KGDT)     as well as the B+ voltage of 300V and a bias of -300V for 600Vpp.

Do any WA6-SE owners have experience pairing this with the HE-1000's? This headphone is hard to drive; I'm sure the WA6-SE can handle it theoretically (theoretical peak SPL about 120 dB when doing the calculations) as the power specs of this are    800 mW at 600 Ω 1,300 mW at 300 Ω 1,800 mW...
