NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?

Hi all, I have NAD hp50s (great headphones) - quick question: I haven't yet bought an amp, do you think an amp makes much of a difference all do these not need them?   Many thanks

Need a good set of headphones under £50 (portable headphones, not iems) - AKG K451s good?

Thanks for the recommendation, but I think 250 hours is too much.  These are actually intended for my brother (he is about to go off to Spain for a year to study) and will not understand the concept of 'burn in' !   Are there any other headphones you can think of? Do you know anything about...

Need a good set of headphones under £50 (portable headphones, not iems) - AKG K451s good?

Hi there,   I Need a good set of headphones under £50 (portable headphones, not iems).  I've heard good things about the K451s but wonder if there are any other contenders.    These need to be portable and similar in size to the AKGs.   Would really appreciate any advice.   Kind regards...

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?

i would trial the focals for a while comfort wise.  How long have you had them?  I used them for 27 days before sending back to Amazon.  For the first few days they felt fine - in fact very comfortable.   After a while though, the headband really caused me issues (perhaps more so than the ear...

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?

I might be conflating soundstage with the roomfeel thing - have you tried the focals?   And overall my feelings are very positive towards this headphone - I should make this clear !

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?

Do tell me how u get on - I returned the focal spirit classics and picked up the NAD HP50s which I'm using at the moment.   My experience with the focals was good but I found the comfort unbearable.  If focal are going to use such small earcups they should at least make them as soft as those...

Great headphones but I found them very uncomfortable for my ears - the pads need to be a bit bigger.   Returned them for this reason, a real shame.

Don't think I'd spend more than £300, especially if they don't drive well without an amp (which I don't yet have).   Charlie

Yeah me too as far as the focals are concerned.  I'll look into the Shures in that case, sounds promising.  What about the HP50s?  innerfidelity recommended them as an alternative to the focals due to their larger earcup size.  Your thoughts? Thanks a lot by the way!   Charlie

I've looked at them, only concern is build quality, do you know anything about the focal spirit classic?  I keep hearing about them but the comfort concerns me

AKG 545 vs Focal Spirit Classic   Leaning towards the AKGs at the moment as i'm concerned about the Focal's comfort - what do you guys think?   Thanks,   Charlie

Would I need an amp if I went for the focal spirit classic?  Also, how would they compare to the akg 545 (550s too big for out and about, also I like detachable cable). How about the HP50s? I'lll look into the a700x, do look a tad big though :) Regards, Charlie

Need some headphones that can be used on the bus/in library - need good soundstage and low noise leakage, balanced sound. recommendations?

Hey Thanks for the recommendation, I've never heard of Focal before but these look very interesting. Is the soundstage good on them (from what I've read they're very neutral, havent found anything on soundstage) - I don't mind a bit of bass but just not overly bassy :).   Basically would...

Need some headphones that can be used on the bus/in library - need good soundstage and low noise leakage, balanced sound. recommendations?

Hi    So I need  some headphones that can be used on the bus/in library - need good soundstage and low noise leakage, balanced sound.   I first though about the AT M50Xs, but the soundstage is not meant to be great. Are the k451s any good (much of an upgrade over my px100IIs)?  What about...
