Schiit Hel and HD6xx
Anyone have opinions or experience with the pairing of Schiit Hel and HD6XX? I’ve seen Fulla 2/3 recommended before (as well as a slew of other Schiit products) but I like the Hel since it has quite a bit more power/versatility for the price. Thanks!- diphaloraptor

Looking for a friend with a variac
Hi All, Recently I decided to take a plunge on a vintage Harman Kardon 930 receiver. The piece is almost in mint condition, the only issue being that it hasn't been powered on for potentially 20+ years. After reading a bit, it seems like a variac would be in order to get things moving again...- diphaloraptor

Darkvoice 336i & 336SE Tuberolling PartII
Will do, was ebay the best option? I've bought tubes a while ago for a little dot but lost of them were community sourced. Also, did you buy vintage tung sol made in USA or the new production made in Russia?- diphaloraptor

Darkvoice 336 + 336i Tuberolling [ tubes ]
Thanks for the recommendations. Any good suggestions on the specific 6080 tubes that you have used personally? Also, you mentioned you just ditched your DV, did you also let go of all of the tubes?- diphaloraptor

Darkvoice 336 + 336i Tuberolling [ tubes ]
Went dark for a while because my HD6xx arrived only a week ago, so I'm on the prowl for a good tube pairing again. Since you're one of two people to actually give a suggestion, figure I'd check in and see how your tubes were working out. Anything interesting? Did you find other good pairings?- diphaloraptor

Darkvoice 336 + 336i Tuberolling [ tubes ]
Recently purchase the Darkvoice 336SE and HD6xx from massdrop. Ive been looking around for tubes that would pair well with the headphones. Ive done some digging and it seems that the Sylvania 6SN7GT (bad boy) and a TungSol 5998 are a great pairing. What other good pairings exist out there or is...- diphaloraptor

Best in-ears for $100 or less?
The velodynes are very nice, good deep bass, clear mids and pretty good highs. Biggest problem is that they are very heavy and stick out quite a bit out of the ear. I have had them for over 2 years now and they have not seen much use because I am just not able to keep them in my ears.- diphaloraptor

New hybrid amp by Little Dot, I+
Is there an exhaustive list of all of the tubes that exist for the Little dot mk1+? Or at least what number tubes are equivalents of what, I am pretty new to this and get confused and its making it very difficult choosing tubes. If someone knows of anything.- diphaloraptor

Maverick Audio TubeMagic D1 (DAC/Amp) - Condensed FAQ and Info Thread
VTHokie83 its a shame you dont want to separate from your D2 but its completely understandable. Also, thanks for all of the information, I have decided against Indeed and similar because of the many issues and too much DYI for my knowledge. Otherwise I have heard really good things about...- diphaloraptor

Upgrade from DT770?
Hey yall, im gonna jump in here, I also have the 770 80ohm, and I listen to a wide range of music but I really appreciate the great bass of the 770s. I am interested in upgrading and would like to retain and/or upgrade bass quality otherwise open to suggestions. Comfort also is a factor, the...- diphaloraptor

First time buying high quality, full-size headphones. Need advice!
The Beyers, easily, theyre a well known German company that build very high quality products. The headband is all metal, the cups are a sturdy plastic, ear cushions are a very soft/plush material. One big drawback for 770s is that the chord is not removable, that honestly might be the only area...- diphaloraptor

First time buying high quality, full-size headphones. Need advice!
I have both the new ATH-M50x (the recently released updated version of the M50s) as well as Beyerdynamic DT 770 (80ohm) and personally, I prefer the 770s. There are two reasons for my choice. The 770 have much better imaging, realistic reproduction of sound, mind altering (tight) bass that...- diphaloraptor

DarkVoice 336SE, or Little Dot MK III 3
If I may revive the thread, I am actually looking at similar choices, along with the Muse TU-20, Indeed G3 and Maverick D2. I am using the DT 770 (80ohm) along with a receiver and some speakers. I am also very interested in swapping tubes to be able to switch around the sound, that I would say...- diphaloraptor

VTHokie83 Thank you for the pointers, that definitely helps.
