That the Beresford is the clear winner for anyone who want more bangs for their bucks. HM

The 1200 is nice and easy to set up and spares are every where to be found. However, budget wise you can get great belt drive decks out there for less money. Rega, Thorens, Micro Seiki. These are some fabulous turntable makers whose decks go for relatively cheap money at times.

For that sort of money I would get it right away. Some people would like you to believe that it is not as good as XYZ, etc. I find it one of the nicest looking budget deck, and with great tweaking potentials. Just make sure that you get some bearing oil and a new belt. Look on eBay for those...

Price is not the issue. You got to also look at the quality of the laser and the circuit.

Didn't you see the Beresford own version on his site? I think it is called TC-3618. 200 odd glass fibre strands the specs say.

Maybe Sony implemented Vista better on their laptop, but whatever it is I don't have any Vista issues. And as far as searching of and for files is concerned: my Directory Opus has yet to be beaten.

It's like watching a combination of the K701 and the SA5000 if you think about it. And both of those are drop dead gorgeous at a fraction of the price.
