  Bumping this post. I have heard that if I wiggle the cable I may be able to determine whether it is a cable issue or a driver issue but it appears to be likely a driver issue. Wiggling or putting in the cable half-way doesn't really product output on the right hand side.

  This is what I asked earlier but it would appear that from some reports there are still various quality control issues with the K545's which is disappointing since I have been considering these headphones for portable usage. Now I may have to look at the Sennheiser M2 Momentum over-ear series...

Have the quality issues been fixed with the AKG K545?  I remember reading a while back when I was considering the AKG K545 that there was various QA/QC issues on production units and that is why I withheld earlier from considering it.    Also how do these compare against the new Momentum M2...

I agree. The size and dimensions of the ear-cups outweigh the acoustic signature. After all who wants to listen to music on headphones that are on-ear for the majority of the population.   I have average/normal sized ears and it becomes on-ear in my case.
