i already own shure e5, did own ety (sold them, but bought them back again), when it comes to expensive purchases (earphones or not), its the benefits that outweigh its costs, that is what i say to people, but that said, i can't wait for them to arrive

i own a pair of shure e5, and the mod sounds great, but i wouldn't do it to mine considering how much i payed for them, i mean one slip of the hand and thats £300 worth of kit wasted. But that said good hands needed.

great review and i agree with 'williamgoody' words as i own a pair of shure E5, i have said before that they are expensive, but do bear in mind that is has two drivers (high energy and low mass). i am hoping to buy another pair in august.

madDog, i place the cable over my ears and over my back, it gives me freedom of movement and i am completely comfortable with it. At the end of the day it is preference really to what phones people like or not, thats what is so good about this site, people have their own view on ear/headphones.

this is what i wrote on other posts concerning shure e5: must say that having both of these phones is a joy, and my previous posts about the ety, in that they are amazing, just excellent are still ringing true, but if there was one thing wrong with the ety's, it is the microphonic noise...

Filipe, if you want some shure phones check out http://www.handheldaudio.co.uk they have them there. as for the e5, yes they are expensive but they do have the dual drivers and it sounds amazing (i own them)

the shure e5's design is 1st rate, plus there is no microphonics, coupled with twin drivers the sound is awesome, search the forums for more info on the e5, there are a few threads

can't tell you much about the amp requirements for the shure e5 as i plug them straight into my sony mze 900 md player (sorry), as for the in-built cross-over, its there so it can blend optimally the high- and low-frequency drivers to maximize the overall frequency response of the earphone, and...
