Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only difference in the two is gauge. In theory, the slightly higher gauge should transfer a little cleaner. We've all tried another blend cable with the 846, the stock cable. In sure Ted offers those as affordable stock replacements. For me, the small cost...

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

I'm not sure what this has to do with headphones, but I got my Volvo 740 turbo and BMW M3 up to ~130mph and my CLK 500 maxed out at 155mph. Not sure I'm interested in doing that any more. I've gotten older and wiser. ha These days I get my thrills from 846's and rubies.

Finally updated my setup with Mogok Burma Rubies. Not sure why Ted doesn't include these stock. ;-)

Most good selvedge is washed in the sea, but we don't use salt here. ha No fixie for me. I'm a roadie. Now that you mention it, I kinda want to take the Mt Bike out!!

I've also noticed that the cable helps and the source is super important. If I run a lower quality source, you can reallllly hear the low quality of the source, which could come across as a not-so-good IEM. Just when I was feeling blue, I swapped to a high quality source, custom OCC cable...

It's a winter blast here in Oregon. UPS, FedEx, and USPS isn't running in Portland today. So if Ted were to get them in the mail, I'm not sure they would leave the warehouse. Stay safe Ted!

    Another streaming service: Beats Music

Almost all of their stuff is 320.   http://support.beatsmusic.com/hc/en-us/articles/200459220-What-audio-quality-bitrate-does-Beats-support-     I've been on it since day 1. It's not bad thought my Theorm 720. You occasionally get tracks that seem off, but most everything is OK. Their...

Yeah I'm not entirely sure what material they are. They were clearly milled. The right fits well but the left doesn't seal unless I push on it a lot. I think I'll have it redone. It's a somewhat softer material but more along the lines of soft plastic than earplug material.

The tips are customs from Starkey labs in mn that I got through a local audiologist. Today I bought two blood red rubies to have set in the eyes of the skull. I'll post pics as soon as they arrive.

I'm not sure if I would want to go lower for $40. I would certainly go higher for another $40. If you're worried about $40, I'm not sure this is the right hobby for you. That being said, if you're on a budget, I'd work really hard to fit in either level of cable you can swing. Totally worth it!

I'm not 14 and I'm not a girl, but OMG! haha   Got the Theorem 720, Ted's custom cable, custom molds and holy crap this rig sounds good. Had to do some custom setup of my pc to get the Theorem to be at it's best, but once I figured that out, streaming from Pandora even sounds amazing.   ...

I just popped on my brand new custom molds. They fit OK, maybe need some getting used to. But they sound a fair bit different. Is it just me or did anyone else experience this? Feels like the mids and bass has been thinned out. Surely not to do with the little plastic grille in the other...

    Another streaming service: Beats Music

I just got onto MOG after being on Pandora for years. So, just now, I DL's the mobile only beats app. First I must say I hate using it because it's called "Beats". haha Otherwise it's similar to Spotify or MOG. Click a few genres you like and then some artists you like and you're listening to...

I’ve been using Ted’s (Ted from headphonelounge.com) magic OCC Silver cable now for less than a couple days. At first I was blown away by the beauty of the silver opalescent cable and the braided texture that I’ve never had the pleasure of seeing first hand before. The workmanship of the wood is...

Several questions about custom ear molds for in-ear monitors

I'm getting customs done at a local Audiologist for my Shure SE 846s. They are changable tips, so you can just get them made and put them on. The UE's are only molds, so the next person will need to have customs made as well.    Online I found the customs for like $200. Locally, I found them...

As soon as the OCC cable arrives, I'm meeting up with the CEO of Cypher Labs to test out the Theorem 720 DAC/AMP in person. They just happen to be based about 10 minutes from my house. For that matter "Ted the cable guy" Ted from headphonelounge.com also lives in Oregon! I'm in the midst of...
