Oppo BDP 103 vs 105
I recently auditioned the 103 vs 105 stereo outs vs each into an M-Dac at my local hifi. Amp was a big expensive Denon, speakers were sonus faber auditors. Listened to Freewheeling Bob Dylan - as nicely engineered :). Guitar and harmonica sounded much more realistic on 105 to 103, voice was...- victorjb

Reply to review by 'victorjb' on item 'Stax SR-009 Electrostatic Headphones'

Best USB DAC under $100?
Cakewalk UA-1G, if you can get it cheap, which is better than the dragonfly v1.0 and way better than the behringer uca202, both of which I own. Having said that, the dragonfly is good and more compact, just not as good SQ as the cakewalk and the lack of a separate volume control I find annoying.- victorjb

Edirol UA-1EX or Cakewalk UA-1G
Need to write a quick post on the cakewalk. A bit of background first. When I auditioned M-Dac a year ago, it beat Rega, M1, Dac Magic and rDac in auditions I did at the time. I like a detailed revealing sound and the M-Dac brought out more detail, tighter bass, than the others - it was very...- victorjb
