    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

I got my replacement set of M100s yesterday. No cracks or anything like that. I switched my shields and put them right into service.   I can without a doubt say now, that there's is no burn in required for M100s. I said this earlier in the thread when I had 2 pairs as well, but now can...

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

To add to what I said earlier; if the future high-end isn't an M100 replacement, you could add magnesium wing plates to future produced M100s, raise the price by $30 or so and they would still be a steal at $300.   It may be a small percentage of occurrences, but I do worry about the future...

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Thanks for the reply Val; Richard already shipped out a new pair yesterday. They'll arrive monday. :-) That's good news about the wireless; I'll wait a couple more months and then jump on a pair if there's no issues.   Re: magnesium; DO IT. WE WILL PAY FOR IT. To put it into perspective; I...

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Val, I already sent my M100s in for repair once for cracked wing plates. The"repaired" pair:   Mind you, this was the repaired set out of the box. I'm sending them back for repair again, but PLEASE PLEASE listen to you fans. The plastic used for the wing plates is too brittle and this...

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

I'm not entirely sure; I didn't mess with it much, but looking at pics from the web, it looks like the band size adjustment mechanism might be effected depending on how broke the wing plates actually get.   I'm wondering what causes it really. It can't be from the screws being too tight. If...

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

I'm hoping this is a just a one time fluke, but based on some quick searching of amazon reviews, and even in this very thread, my instance is not isolated. We'll see how the replacements do. I'm not having any luck finding a replacement pair that sound as good as the M100s. If this happens...

V-MODA CROSSFADE WIRELESS: Exclusive Preview, Videos, Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Val, hopefully the wing plates are made of a more durable material like aluminum or steel. I'd be all over these if they are, but it's doubtful.   The plastic wing plates are simply not durable enough to withstand daily use. They will crack and break; when, not if.

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Well, it's been a good year and a half, but my M100s suffered the dreaded cracking wing plates too....   *sigh*   I never abused them; they stay at my pc/gaming area, and when not in use they hang on a coat hook on the wall. They're either on my head, or hung up. They've never been dropped...

Thank you for confirming these cables work with the M100's! :D   I need a long cable to go from my receiver to the couch for my M100's and wasn't sure if these would work out. Grabbing a couple now. :-)

Very nice! I may have to grab a set of those. :-)   Edit: I'll grab a set from v moda direct once they put them up there so I can get them engraved. :-)

    Audiotechnica M50's vs V-Moda Crossfade LP's?

LP2. It kills the M50 in the bass dept.

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

I'm convinced that's exactly what it is. Coming from LP2's, when I first heard the M100's I actually felt they were lacking in bass, but the more I listened to them, everything seemed to open up; bass became more prominent, highs were clear and mids were fine to my ears. Normally that could be...

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

I bought two pairs of matte black M100's a week apart. I listened to the first pair heavily until the second pair arrived. When the second pair arrived, I listened to them and could not tell the difference between the new and week old M100's. Any "burn-in", IMHO, for the M100's is just your...

    V-MODA Shield Design Discussion

Looks great. :-) Make sure the copy you send v-moda has black for all the gray areas.   For colors, I really like matte black (they look amazing engraved), midnight blue and ocean blue.

It's because of the folding feature. The cables have to be long enough to accommodate the folding without stressing the cables. It's not a huge problem, but definitely noticeable. FWIW, on the crossfade LP's and LP2's, the cable is very short and barely noticeable.

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

I agree completely with this. My second pair of M100's showed up about a week and a half after my first pair. Once my ears/brain got adjusted to the sound of the M100's coming from the LP2's (still great basshead cans IMHO), once I got the second pair they sounded identical to the first, no...

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

It could have been a lot of things; temperature variation, batch of bad plastic, etc. Bottom line is it should be covered by warranty, which it most likely will, but the best warranty is the one you never have to use.   I do think the plastic used in v-moda's headphones could use a bit of...

I have two pairs of the mate black M100's and both are ok for now; no cracks or anything. My white lp's did develop a couple of cracks though. Fingers crossed.

    V-MODA Shield Design Discussion

I don't see why they wouldn't do it. It's not a direct logo or stock image; it's heavily edited.   Anything black will be etched and appear white/bare while the white areas in your pic will be the shield color.

    Audiotechnica M50's vs V-Moda Crossfade LP's?

The cables on the M50X are proprietary though; you can't use just any 3.5mm cable.

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

The ATH-M50's sound good, but nowhere near as good as the M100's IMHO. The M100's are much more clear sounding and have way better bass.

Nicely done. :) I love the way the matte black shields turn out once engraved. I have a set in matte black with my moogle design on the way.
