@Mr.HiAudio I'd say quite the opposite actually: This Jade Audio EA1 is having too much of bad-quality bass, not too-little bass. As far as my usage-pattern shows, meanwhile, I am hardly using that EA1 at all anymore, I either use still my BLON BL05s, or rather, most often meanwhile, my LZ A6...

Thanks for your advice! :-) For now it's working quite well for me with the biggest one of the stock tips of the BL-05S, but I'll give that a try when the occasion arises. By the way, with time I enjoy how this BLON has a much more precise and less mushy bass for acoustic instruments (e.g...

Just bought this and the Jade Audio EA1 and did a critical listen today after 2 days of burning in... Agree with the reviewers here about the comparatively lean bass and lack of sub-bass, but nice imaging and soundstage. This is a good IEM at its price but not perfect. It's indeed lean on lower...

Just bought this and the BLOON BL05s and did a critical listen today after 2 days of burning in... I agree with the reviewer about the poor timbre and imaging (BL05s is better for that). This EA1 is still a good IEM at its price but not perfect. It has much bass (e.g. more than the BLON BL-05S)...

    Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

Yes, a bit of arrogance + a pinch of irony make good conversation-starters. (Of course, the quote I mentioned is meant slightly ironically in the first place. Otherwise it wouldn't be an artist quote, but instead one of these Einstein quotes that plague countless well-intended texts.)  ...

    Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

Rant: Not quite, Angrygoldfish, as one artist once wrote (on a poster he gave me), "We should be angrier than we are". It is absolutely not OK for any equipment to suffer from what is either some poor construction or planned obsolescence. And especially not for a 100€ IEMs pair (if it were...

    The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

I shortly tried the DX50 on a Bowers and Wilkins Car system at a Jaguar shop (on a used car, a XF), and then again (right afterwards) on their stock basic audio on another used XF (via the auxiliary mini-jack plug, from LO and therefore at full volume on the DX50 as recommended on the thread)...

    The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

The uncritical, pro-manufacturer culture on these headfi forum threads is really peculiar (when one is not such a "fanboy" oneself). The many lightweight posters who express genuine concerns/issues on this thread, over hundreds of pages, are not always helped, but rather sometimes/too often...

    The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

Are you using 100% embedded artwork on all your albums, or a mix of embedded and "Folder.jpg" files? In my case, as I already wrote in details, I used to have a mix, depending on the albums, but found out that only the "Folder.jpg" files do work flawlessly so I recommend rather that option...

    The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

@geagle: I disagree. I do "ONLY" use FLAC files, and embedded art does not work, on my device. I cannot say 100% that it does not work on any album, but it definitely was the reason why one fourth of my album art did not show up. Once converted back to Folder.jpg, it works like a charm. (Am...

    The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

Hi everyone. @Mingus and others still experiencing problems with scanning: I did too, under 1.2.6 and 1.2.7 until yesterday night I finally did the change that settled it: Read on.   I first though the tags-cleaning would help, as so many others suggested. But it was obviously not enough. 2 of...

    The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

Hi all,   Just a naive question (am am bit lost with the thousands of posts on this thread):   Could it be possible to have some specific/dedicated thread on headfi with some kind of table where people could share opinions/votes on different pairings/synergies of the DX50 with difft IEMs and...

Comply T-400 - is it worth it?

Absolutely not worth it for me! I bought a set (3 pairs) of Comply T400 for my Hifiman RE-400, and am very disappointed. The bass is much less present, and the sound isolation is nothing really better, compared to the best of the silicon tips provided by Hifiman with my RE-400. Quite some...

Thanks, very helpful feedback on the QCs! :-) (especially thanks for warning me against the QC3, I won't touch these then - it explains why so many of them are being sold 2nd-hand on ebay...) - so I'll hunt for some QC15 if my RE-400s + Comply foam tips don't help with the dx50 on my next...

Nice and easy, thanks :)   Before I start joining files together, I'll probably join myself to the 1.2.5 adopters this Sunday. (Hope I won't come across any trouble. I also hope the touchscreen's over-sensitivity got improved with this latest FW...)

    The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

Yes thanks, that sounds like an option as long as multi-cd albums won't work (although it makes it more difficult to jump to a specific point in the concert then). Which software can do that most easily? (I never did that operation yet; am normally just using foobar on my pc to rip and...

    The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

Absolutely not. You seem not to understand what a multi-cd album is, or why it is sometimes important to have it un-divided... It's however pretty simple. Like a live concert or opera that lasts over several CDs. Then you do not "just want to listen to one cd"... You want your live...

Is the touchscreen less 'bitchy' (i.e. less over-sensitive) in 1.2.5 (final) compared to 1.2.2? (I still can't get used to it... scrolling is always a problem...)

Thanks for the information - so this means that the whole tagging system is a mess, and there are no proper standards. (By the way, pointing this out is not "wasting time". You should instead, be appalled by that situation and asking programmers, at ibasso and elsewhere, to do their job...

    The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

There exists a tag category called "disc number" and one called "total discs". Is that there for nothing? That's what I'd call the "simple", practical, obvious way to handle this... if only the dx50 were capable of reading these tags categories properly.

    The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

Or in other words: Why make things simple when one can make them complicated... And then all these "playlists" get lost each time one updates the firmware or does factory reset. That's really anything but practical... It is indeed very strange that some people insist to deny that this device...

That is not a solution, that's merely a workaround, i.e. like not having multi-disc albums anymore... (So I don't understand why people keep repeating that pseudo-solution, when someone mentions this issue.)   By the way: I emailed ibasso a few weeks ago but couldn't find how to work...

Yes, input from the ibasso's LO at full volume, to the front of the marantz and with a very cheap cable so when I have time I'll try it differently again, and do a proper comparison (testing the same file read directly by the Marantz)... I won't be surprised if the Marantz performs better, but I...
