Best MUSIC SERVER: WEISS 301, Aurender, LUMIN.... ? HELP !

Would the Auraliti PK100 be a better choice (SQ) than the Chinese streamers like Consonance Ref 7 or JF HDM-03?  There's also a new Chinese player, Soundaware D200 that looks interesting.     I'm sure Aurender tops the heap, its just way out of my budget for now :(   Thanks!

Best MUSIC SERVER: WEISS 301, Aurender, LUMIN.... ? HELP !

I'm currently using a Cambridge Audio NP30 as a music server, which is connected to an old Genesis Digital Lens before running a coaxial to my Wyred4Sound DAC 1.  Inserting the Genesis Digital Lens between the NP30 and the W4S does improve the sound quite a bit.  But the Digital Lens is old...

REVIEW : Soundaware D100 Pro Deluxe Edition : The Ultimate Source

Does anyone have experience with the new Soundaware D200 player? I couldn't find any reviews on it.   For those with Soundaware players, how's the reliability so far.   Thanks.

What else do I need to complete this setup??? Beyerdynamic T90's and am building a Bottlehead Crack.

Great choice!  I have the T90 driven by a Bottlehead Crack... they form a beautiful pair, producing music that is highly resolving and dynamic.  I recommend these upgrades in descending order of priority:   1. Get the speedball upgrade for the Crack.  It significantly tightens and cleans up...

    Beyerdynamic T1 or Grado Rs1i for rock/metal?

Yes, you are absolutely right.  It would be best to listen first before making any decisions.  Everyone hears differently and has a different taste in sound.   A good mate of mine who owns the LCD2 dislike the T90, while I find his cans a shade too dark and closed in

    Beyerdynamic T1 or Grado Rs1i for rock/metal?

Yes, the T90 does have lots of energy in the high frequencies, but not nearly as hot as Grados.  I would imagine that anyone who likes the Grado sound should have no problem with the T90's highs.    With proper amping, the T90 has a very open and resolving treble.

    Beyerdynamic T1 or Grado Rs1i for rock/metal?

Have you considered the T90? Its great for all genres, and has similar signature as the T1.  Much better than the DT880 IMO.  I love the Grado sound as well, but the T1/T90 are in a different league when it comes to sound fidelity.

    Beyerdynamic T1 or Grado Rs1i for rock/metal?

I like the G Cush best.  Significant increase in soundstage size, which is the biggest weakness with Grados in general IMO.  The G Cush is also the most comfortable for me as it doesn't touch the ear but wraps itself around it (my ears are biggish).  Drawback is a slight loss in bass quantity...

    Beyerdynamic T1 or Grado Rs1i for rock/metal?

+1 on the T90.   Excellent for rock - very dynamic, tons of energy and pace.  Haven't compared it with the T1, but its clearly better than my other headphone, the Grado 325i.

    DT 990 250ohm Premium or T 90?

I have both headphones.  The T90 is clearly the superior headphone, being better in all aspects.  It has better dynamics, is significantly more transparent, and has higher resolution and micro detail.  The bass (which I regard as an area of weakness for the DT990) is cleaner, tighter, and more...

Looking to upgrade: Beyer T-90 or Hifiman HE-500

I'm currently using a T90, having previously upgraded from a DT990. Driven by a good amp (especially a tube amp), the T90 has one of the most transparent and resolving sound around, only bettered by the HD800.  I'm driving my T90 with a Bottlehead Crack, the sound is just glorious. The...
