Controlling volume for Creative Titanium HD?

Would it be wiser to go with the ZXR? It's much cheaper and I've read that it's generally a "better" card, being as the Titanium HD as I understand is older.

Went for the Schiit Magni in the end. Hopefully I'll be pleased with the end result :)

Controlling volume for Creative Titanium HD?

Thanks for all the replies. I will take a look at that thread, and I will look at those units you provided angel. Would you recommend a Fiio E9 instead of the E11? Or even jumping the gun and going for the E12? I hear you cannot charge and use the E11 simultaneously, and this is for a desktop...

Controlling volume for Creative Titanium HD?

ouch, and there is no cheaper alternative to this?   I'm in the UK and the unit is £99, so we pay a bit more here, but it's just a shame there isn't a more accessible alternative.   One question - what is the difference between adjusting windows volume on its own (no amp), and adjusting the...

Controlling volume for Creative Titanium HD?

Hi there, on the Creative Titanium HD the card has a dedicated jack for headphones.   Obviously I plug my headphones directly into that jack - but my phones have no physical volume control on them... so what is the best, convenient and cheapest way to control volume?    I would prefer to use...

Way to control volume for a DT150?

But would I see varying quality with just using the windows volume control? Like how different would it be at lower and higher volumes? Compared to having windows volume at full and tweaking volume with a volume knob on an amp.

Way to control volume for a DT150?

Hi there, after thinking long and hard, I have decided to get a new soundcard to accompany my DT150 250 ohm.   However, the headphones will go directly into the back of the soundcard, so I have no means of volume control.   If I purchased a headphone amp instead of a soundcard, I would have...

Looking for something different and new, a more fun sound

Thanks for the replies so far. Looks like the 990s are a sure winner here.   Would it be wise to invest in a brand new soundcard or just an amp? Would an Asus D2/D2X power the 990s alone well enough?

Looking for something different and new, a more fun sound

I'd take that offer up but unfortunately I live in the UK :(   990s are looking more appealing at the moment for sure

Looking for something different and new, a more fun sound

Thanks for the replies.   If I had the choice between open and closed (770 and 990), what would you choose?   Dave, the only time my headphones get used is in my room on my own, so I'm guessing the 990s would be a better option?

Looking for something different and new, a more fun sound

I am new to these forums so hello first off :)   Around December time last year I bought myself a pair of DT150s, my first pair of mid-range headphones. They do the job well and I am happy with them, coming from the Creative Fatality headset prior to that.   Now, after owning these cans for...
