dt770/dt990, phillips x1/l1, ad900x, hifiman-he300 and soundmagic hp100 are all great cans for your needs.

I wouldn't bother recabling the headphones unless your really serious about these headphones, chances are it'll cost more to recable your headphones straight from the can then the actual cans itself.

beyerdynamic dt990's are a solid choice for rap/hiphop/electronic music, great bass (maybe a bit too much but I like that) and amazing soundstage.

My dt250's have been shipped and it says the package weight is 2lbs, fingers crossed.

Better clarity and more fun sounding, and they're WAY more comfortable then the stock EVO pads which feel like a brick compared to these.

So I bought a pair of srh840 earpads after seeing the review that prod posted, and I can't get them to fit! How the hell did you guys even get the srh940s to fit on these?   EDIT: Finally got it, with the power of tape holding the other side while I stretch it.

I've done way too much research on headphones, and right before I was about to pull the trigger on the dt990s I found out about the he-300 and wonder how they stack against the dt990's? I know the rev 1.0 HE-300's were pretty whack but what about the newer ones with the silver cable?

I will only be using my headphones at home on my computer so would an amp still be necessary to power the 250 ohms dt990's?

      From what you posted Proid the Fostex earpads are going to be your best bet, where do you buy them though?
