Best headphones for Movies/Gaming
Hi all I currently have some DT770's (80Ω) that I use on the TV. Are these the best headphones for the job, are there any you'd consider better for the job, open or closed is fine? I have them plugged into the rear headphone jack, am I losing out by doing this, should I get a receiver of...- Robbo

Sennheiser RS220 Availability?
I want to get some of these to use with my TV, will it be fine with a Digital Audio Out (Optical) from the TV into the RS220 stand? My TV doesn't have any coaxial options!- Robbo

Best wireless headphones for Movies/Gaming on the TV (£500/$800)
I want some new headphones for use with the TV. They need to be wireless, I don't want wires really. I've narrowed it down to: Sony MDR-HW700DS Sennheiser RS 220 Now, firstly, closed is preferable, but not essential. The Sony's are closed, the Senn's are open. It's my...- Robbo

Beyerdynamic T90 vs Denon AH-D600
Hi all I'm pretty much all set on the Beyerdynamic T90's, I'll give them a listen as well before buying. One thing I just wanted to check, do the Denon D600's compare? I understand they'll sound different but from an overall perspective... The T90 is going to be about 25% more...- Robbo

Thanks for the PSB suggestion but I can't see any places to try them out, so would have to stick with the 2 Beyer options!- Robbo

Best all-round headphones, £300/$500~ budget
Just an update, I'm going to try and compare the T70 and T90 and pick what I prefer. From reviews and what people say, the T90 will probably be the one to go for, as it's just a slightly 'worse' T1...- Robbo

Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread
I've been doing a lot of reading and overall, there doesn't seem to be a big difference between the T90 and T1 - at all. That's not to say there aren't differences, but I bet you've got to be rather keen to pick them out/really enjoy them.- Robbo

Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread
Thanks guys. I just need to pick between the T70 and T90 now, both of them seem to be available to me at better prices than their competitors (that are generally not considered to be as good). I really need to try them, though this may prove slightly difficult if the shop don't allow it...- Robbo

Fair enough, the T90's definitely seem more popular though, at least that's the impression I get.- Robbo

Quote: Does this mean 250ohm headphones would be a bit of a waste? I'm sure it at least supports up to 600 ohm, I have a setting for it anyway and that's what I've been previously told. The options look like so: http://i.imgur.com/pj3GAvm.jpg Quote: Ah ok.- Robbo

Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread
Hi folks, are these worth £100/$160~ more than the T70? People don't seem to rate the T70 all that highly, but love these... I don't mind closed vs open but I'm more familiar with the former. Is that the only real difference? I also have the Denon D600's in the frame and they're...- Robbo

Best all-round headphones, £300/$500~ budget
How about the Beyer T90? I've found some for £360 ($570), if they really blow all of my other options out of the water, it would seem daft to miss out for the sake of a few quid...? I know it's open vs closed (I'm not too familiar with open but in theory I should very much like it), but the...- Robbo

Best all-round headphones, £300/$500~ budget
Given what's available to me at the shops, I've more or less ruled out the Momentum based on the fact it's small - I am going to try some later but I'm not a big fan of very small earcups, and they seem to be fairly small. This leaves me to choose between the Denon AH-D600 and the Beyer T70...- Robbo

beyer t70 & t70p NEW!
I noticed the big review of these on here sort of panned them as being not very good. However, price aside they seem to be fairly popular and well received. I'm considering getting some for general use, music/movies/gaming, would they be good for this or should they be reserved for delicate...- Robbo

The 880's and 990's have caught my eye, they're also a lot cheaper than the T70. I've not tried them but I'm certainly intrigued. My sound card has a - so I'm told - 600ohm rated amp on it, it definitely has an amp of some sort, it's pretty good. :)- Robbo

Hi I currently have a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Ohm headphones. I really rather like them, but wonder if there was any way to significantly improve on them if you're willing to pay well over £200. I previously had the AKG K551's which I wasn't a big fan of as they sounded a bit...- Robbo

AKG K551 vs Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80ohm
Thanks guys. It's a strange one, people seem to like the DT770 yet actually think the K551/550's are better. Originally I wanted the AKG's as I prefer the design of them and I've heard good things, but reading about the DT's just kept me in two minds. I'm certainly not crazy about...- Robbo

AKG K551 vs Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80ohm
Hello Head-Fi! I am currently looking for a new pair of headphones to replace my PC headset, the Sennheiser PC350's. I don't need a microphone so this isn't really a consideration, and have opted to go for headphones not a headset. I've narrowed it down to the 2 pairs of headphones...- Robbo
