Schiit Owners Unite
Just re-read your question, the PYST cables are very short (for stacking) any reasonable quality rca interconnect will do you fine. You might want to consider a better quality cable if you have a long run though.- halfrican

Audiophile Headphones With Mic?
I'd recommend you find a pair of heaphones that you like, then add this: http://www.modmic.com/ The majority of headsets (with built in mic) are mediocre at best when it comes to music listening.- halfrican

New Windows USB driver for Schitt Gungnir and Bifrost!
Just a quick heads up to the Schitt owners on head-fi. Schitt has posted new drivers for the Gungnir and Bifrost (v1.03). I can confirm that these drivers DO support WASAPI-Event unlike the prior version. This should improve performance and error resistance under Windows 7/8. Also for those that...- halfrican

schitt.com has some "new" USB drivers listed, link is broken at this time, but perhaps we'll be seeing support for WASAPI "event mode"?- halfrican

Not implying your discomfort isn't legit, but I have found the LCD-3 to be incredibly comfortable. Especially comparing it against the LCD-2 and the Hifiman HE-500. As suggested you might try the optional ear pad,but my understanding is that it is very similar to the leather in terms of softness.- halfrican

Quote: I think you have hit one of my sensitivities on the head! I do find "overbearing" an issue for me, one of the reasons I've avoided the Senn HD800 by reputation. I have heard that the "uber" version of the bifrost definitely sounds better than the "stock" version, but I'm assuming the...- halfrican

Quote: Ah, well that may be my misunderstanding after reading pages and pages of discussion. The idea of a single box solution does appeal to me from a desk space perspective. Based on my research it appears I can acquire a conductor for around the same $ as the Schitt stack? Damn, once...- halfrican

Audeze LCD-3 Impressions Thread
After listening to my LCD-3s powered by Schitt Bifrost Uber/Lyr combo I am still very pleased, but I still yearn to hear what the solid state and balanced output of the Gungnir/Mjolnir combo can add to the experience. In the under $2K price range can anyone recommend a better option for driving...- halfrican

Audeze LCD-3 Impressions Thread
Just a quick note to introduce myself, a VERY happy new owner of a pair of LCD-3s! I previously owned the LCD 2.2s and have to echo the thoughts of many other members in saying the 3s are definitely worth the extra $. They simply take everything the 2s do well and do it better. Absolutely...- halfrican
