@jerick70 So sorry to hear about that ass-hattery. Nothing worse than waiting. I just got my Kiwi Melody. Paired it with the Hiby R6iii. Some very nice sounds. The NiceHCK GreyRhino won't be in until next week. These have some decent bass, more mid-bass than truly low bass stuff here, but still...- Richsvt

@Podster Curios to hear your take on the R3ii signature. Hiby makes a good kit. Love the footprint of the R3.- Richsvt

Hell, I'm always up to get something new but I am trying to save up to install a new audio system in my car (no cassettes, unfortunately). I can't justify those beautiful Scarlets but have had my eye on the Kiwi Ears Melody and may grab that as a consolation prize.- Richsvt

I was rotating through some old cassettes last night with different headphones. What I discovered was that some high quality tapes were recorded with some really good control (no noise reduction, no boosted gain, good metal or type II tape). Maxell XLIIs and TDK MA were most of my selection. I...- Richsvt

FIIO first cassette player CP13 is officially released!
Received the CP13 yesterday. Listening now to some tapes dating to 1989. They still sound pretty solid. Can't remember if I added any EQ to them at the time. You lose a bit of staging and headroom from the cassette. Still very musical though and very engaging. Listening the Simple Minds Sparkle...- Richsvt

@jerick70 Congrats man. I really think you'll like the FiiO. Snappy UI and great signature. I've always liked the FiiO sound, even from way back. Definitely let us know what you think.- Richsvt

That's disappointing, figured it would have been higher. Still, at that price and with those sweet tubes, might still be a good deal. Like I said before, if I didn't already own the N3Pro, I might've jumped for this. The FiiO M23 is a bit more in cash but boasts 1000mW.- Richsvt

I found a bunch more cassettes. They are all in really good shape. The oldest dates to 1985. Wonder about the integrity of the actual tape. I have the CP13 player on the way. It's going to feel so odd to be back in the 80s again (but with much better headphones).- Richsvt

I was digging in my basement for some tool and came across a bunch of pristine cassettes dating back to 1988. All high quality type II and metal with songs I recorded to them. I have 16. Need to look for more as I know there are some others down there. Vowed to myself that if I can get to at...- Richsvt

In speaking about the FiiO, Cayin and HiBy DAPs, I took both the M11S and the N3Pro out last night and was using the 99Noir. I hadn't fired up either for a while. Was pleasantly surprised how much fun the M11S is. Great sound and wonderful UI. The N3P was awesome because of the tubes. Such a...- Richsvt

I love the sound of the N3Pro. Love having a portable unit with tubes. I'm interested in seeing if the Ultra can support Balanced output in tube mode (the N3P cannot) and also what the power will be.- Richsvt
