Yes.  Use the variable outs and you can control the volume with the remote.  I would also look at some of the "pro" models which allow you to use a balanced cable.

Is the original Concero in a lower league than the DA8/X-Sabre/Anedio or is the sound signature just different?

I recently read a review in Tone where the reviewer powered a pair of Rethm speakers from the headphone output of a WA3 and was pleased with the result.  Does anyone know if the WA6 or WA6SE would be able to perform the same task?

I also had one of these and was very fond of the stock sound. I would doubt that the cost and time involved in upgrading would be well spent. You would be better off building a new amp based on one of the more modern designs or just buying a new Headroom amp.
