VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread
I picked a set of these up as an interim replacement for my DBA-02 MKII's (after thinking I'd lost them on an aeroplane - they later resurfaced behind a cupboard). A few initial thoughts after maybe 2 or 3 hours of listening (through DX90, low gain, FLAC source (16/44 and 24/96): - Bass...- backsideslappy

Audio-GD NFB-11.32 & NFB-11 (2014) (Delivery & Impression Thread)!!!
Wow. So much more detail and depth out of the 880s through this puppy. Absolutely plug and play with Ubuntu 12.04 as well which is a massive relief after all of the dramas people have had in this thread.- backsideslappy

Audio-GD NFB-11.32 & NFB-11 (2014) (Delivery & Impression Thread)!!!
Just received my 11.3 in the mail this morning - can't wait to get home and set it all up. Also have ordered a new audioquest forest USB A/B cable, as the stock one looks a touch rudimentary. Initial comments are that the unit looks pretty well put together - I will probably be itching to get...- backsideslappy

I have heard great things about the pairing between the Audio GD 11.32 DAC/AMP and the DT880 - so I bought that! I haven't yet received it so I can't comment at this stage on whether it sounds as excellent as people are saying (for the price point) - but all reviews seem to point to it being a...- backsideslappy

Quote: That's what I like to hear! I primarily use either Audacious or gmusicbrowser on 12.04 these days due to the small memory footprint and loading speeds (and the fact that Audacious likes ALSA much much more than any of the other music players do - I can't get rhythmbox to bond...- backsideslappy

Audio-GD NFB-11.32 & NFB-11 (2014) (Delivery & Impression Thread)!!!
I just put an order through for the 11.32 unit (with the BCN and TCXO clock and USB upgrade) and am very much looking forward to giving it a run through my DT880s. So far I've been running through a FiiO E17, which, while far from sounding bad, probably hasn't been making the most of the...- backsideslappy

Having spent the last week or so listening to the 250 ohm DT880s through my FiiO E17 - I have just pulled the trigger on the Audio GD 11.32 DAC/AMP to give it a whirl. It seems to offer reasonably impressive value for money (even in Australia where it is a touch more expensive - I paid $370 for...- backsideslappy

Westone Adventure Series - New Dynamic Driver for rugged activities: Impressions and Discussion
I've never killed any with sweat, but have had a set of SE215s fall apart from being rained on while running. For use in a gym most IEMs fare just fine, but if you're running or cycling reasonably long distances then it doesn't take long for wear and tear to start getting the better of most.- backsideslappy

THE DIY HEADPHONE STAND THREAD
It doesn't look like much, but given I'm only about $7 into it for some dowel and PVC connectors I'm not overly fussed - it will live in my guitar room. And, while not very "DIY", I picked this up for the bedroom:- backsideslappy

Westone Adventure Series - New Dynamic Driver for rugged activities: Impressions and Discussion
If these are actually reasonably weather-proof then there's probably a pretty good market for them. It's quite easy to protect a DAP from the elements when you're hiking or bushwalking or just generally out and about but IEMs are a bit more difficult. If these sound half good (which they...- backsideslappy

Quote: I think my budget is reasonably open ended (a ridiculous thing to say in the audio world where a turntable can cost as much as a family car) but with a view to pulling up short of the point of diminishing returns. I don't want to spend twice as much for a 5% improvement in...- backsideslappy

Hi kind folks, A few days ago, I received my DT 880s (250ohms) in the mail and have been putting some mileage on them ever since. However, given I've been running straight from my laptop through a FiiO e17, or through a cowon j3/e17 I can't help but feel that I'm a bit shy on power to get...- backsideslappy

IEM Comparison
Of that lot, the Shure or the Triple Fi 10 would be my picks. The Shure is a very pleasant sounding headphone, and the TF10 is an icon (but perhaps a bit stale compared to the Shure and a bit tinny to some people's ears - though not mine, I always really liked them) Avoid the XBA-2, but...- backsideslappy

The MKIV is the one in the Little Dot lineup I was looking at, so that's very good to know. I note that both recommendations for that amp are from guys with the 600ohm model of the DT880s - I assume there wouldn't be any issues with the 250 ohm model (they may not be quite so well paired with...- backsideslappy

Looking for insight on a new IEM purchase.
You should be able to find a set of Fischer DBA-02 Mk2's for around that price. Hands down my favourite IEM of all time. Certainly puts the Shure's to shame, though I've not tried the vsonics. Very accurate, very clear, VERY fast IEMs with a brilliantly stable and comfortable build (and...- backsideslappy

Wonderful. A reasonably "newbish" question - I am very familiar with tube amps in the context of guitars but not so much in the audio world. Something like the LaFigaro you referred to, or perhaps something from the Little Dot lineup, that would increase clarity over a solid state amplifier...- backsideslappy

Hi pals, First time poster. Just received my DT880s (250 ohm) yesterday afternoon - have been putting some mileage on them and when I'm not listening I've been running some white, pink and brownian noise through them (it seems that they respond well to a good deal of breaking in).
