Just got mine after a 1 year wait (more or less). You can trust Justin to reserve one for you!   Wonderful amp! Using a HDP-R10 to drive an ancient Thorens TDA-2000 DAC into the GS-X Mark II with a HD800 with stock cables.   Really nice. Will be plugging in the AKG-1000 this weekend!

How would you intend to keep it steady when wearing it to walk around? The small pads making contact with the sides of your head will probably be unable to keep the 1K steady, which means the sound stage will shift around when you're walking.

By the way, I travel quite a bit so I kind of us them as ear plugs when in the air. Isolation is really good.

Have you considered Audio Technicas? I'm currently using a CK100. They're not very bass heavy but the mids are heavenly!

Hi Lawrence   Hope you got your R10. It's great! Driving my HD800s no problems.   Was using it to drive my ATH-CK100PRO IEM but they seemed too bright for my liking. Either the CK100pro has not been fully burned it or could be the R10. Both currently less than 100 hours of play time.
