out of the box the utopias are like a new pair of running shoes. Sounds stiff and unresponsive. My magic number is 2 weeks of constant listening to start to see the flower bloom.

I would say give it at least 2 weeks of burn you will start hear the stage open up and the bass gets tighter. Did a comparison with the store demo and my set when i just got it and it clearly sounds different.

  stock cables are quite good as it is other than the length. However there is still a bit more to squeeze out of the utopia.make sure you are able to try the cables you buy them. I recently tried one that actually made the utopia sound terrible.

i currently own the x-sabre and considering on getting the x-sabre pro... seems to of really good specs

sorry for the late reply. well thankfully the utopia is not too difficult to make it sound good. The CMA800i is definitely not the best combi i've heard with the utopia with, but definitely better performance compared to the HD800. I own both the HD800 and Utopia. No regrets getting the utopia...

I got my opinion from focused and objective comparison. Right now the comparison is between the 2 pairs of headphones. Likewise one could say the utopia paired with some damn good amp and dac would yield even better results. So to make fair comparisons one should compare it under similar...

not as quick as the sr009 but imo i gives a better overall experience with a much more fuller sound. The sound has more body not the thin sound you get with sr009. It has much better tonality and very balanced.

Yes you should but only make your judgement when it is paired with an amp which is typically know to pair well with it. Its kinda picky with amps so YMMV. All the best and have fun with you 6xx
