Try different headphones, five years ago the hd600 were a kind of a default. Now you have much more options. Leave the dac alone.

Don't want to ruin your excitement, but the streamer is pretty hot sounding and may not suit your rig. For the money it is great, but the NFB-3 is probably better (wasn't out when I bought the hrt).

I have the class A psu. Even when usb powered it is very good. I have no experience with mac. About jitter, There is a number from which the jitter is "inaudible" and the DI is well below that. What makes it good is exclusively its build quality.

Search for slim.a reviews. They are very good and thorough. As a past owner of the hiface and a current owner of the DI, I can vouch for the di's superiority. The hiface is exactly as you read, harsh and unnatural. The V-Link is quite new and doesn't seem to get the rave yet. Probably MF are...

I own a II+ along with a beta22 and lcd-2. After six months with it I can wholeheartedly recommend it for someone who spent most of his budget on lcd-2. Though it may be harsh on the edges on some recordings, it really scores great on the better ones. But I will soon be parting with this dac...
