I just purchased the srs-3100 and should be here next weekish! I'm excited    In his review, zeos wasn't impressed on first day either but apparently these really need to 'break-in' or the membranes to get fully charged.   I'm thinking of just using double sided tape and a pair of HM5 pads...

Yes, I would love to compare them. I have always liked Koss's customer loyalty and lifetime warranty (I used like 4 times on my clip-on's ).   I feel I will be a bit screwed if the Stax amp breaks on me. Their warranty is for 1 year and japan only . I will have to baby these things haha

Thanks for the heads-up! Those pads were tempting but I guess you reap what you sow.   I hear even the HM5 pads drastically alter the sound for the worse (bass mostly).

That looks like an incredible setup! I guess you need a crazy amp to run those hungry planar magnetics. Looks like you could run an ultrasound scan if you wanted to haha    Looks like you will have to recruit a young blood to lift that thing, seems as heavy as an old CRT TV.

i also am a member of the FX33's. I payed the full 25$ but i understand there was a 10$ sale at bestbuy or something recently. The kramer's mod makes them sound great! unfortunately, i don't have any other tips to exchange them with.. is there a huge noticable difference in SQ?

well.. I believe that the MS-1's would sound better than the sr60's if you also listen to other genre's besides metal/rock (like classical). And besides, it's not that much more expensive and free shipping. I say buy the MS1 and if the grado sound is for you, upgrade up their line or something.
