NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S
This is welcome news for me. I am just looking for a full size headphone with a balanced sound, and $300 is pretty much my budget right now. Thanks for the early impressions.- muaysteve

Someone posted this a while back, but will this kind of cable allow you to cut out the usb hub and just connect the battery and the fulla to your S3? http://www.amazon.com/Micro-Cable-Power-Samsung-AtomicMarket/dp/B009YPYORM?tag=androidcentral00-20- muaysteve

Fulla (by) Schiit - News, photos, thoughts, impressions, etc.
Well, I guess I will have to wait and see if some else tries the fulla with their phone. As for the Android issue, i don't have any first hand knowledge, but various forum discussions regarding the Nexus 5 have kept me from buying an usb based amp for my phone: From an article: "If you've...- muaysteve

I am hoping this is not the case. I am hoping to use a fulla with my Nexus 5, now that the new Android version supports audio via usb. A lot of portable amps use a 9v battery and last for 10 - 20 hours. Anyone know for sure?- muaysteve

V-MODA XS: A first look at the new V-MODA XS with Val Kolton - Head-Fi TV
Well I was able to sell the M50's tonight and I pulled the trigger on the black XS from the headphonebar. So I guess I'll see what the difference is in a few days.- muaysteve

V-MODA XS: A first look at the new V-MODA XS with Val Kolton - Head-Fi TV
@blackcoffee: thanks for the reply. I'm pretty sure I am going to roll the dice on the xs. The small form factor alone will work well for travel and the office. I had a buyer for my M50's today, but it fell through, so I may be a couple more weeks. @Tom22: What is it you are not liking...- muaysteve

V-MODA XS: A first look at the new V-MODA XS with Val Kolton - Head-Fi TV
Has anyone made the leap from ATH-M50 to the v-moda XS? I've had the m50 for about 6 months and I have just totally fallen out of love with them. They sound dull and veiled to me now. I am wondering if the overall sound of the XS are "better" than the m50 or just on par with them.- muaysteve

Little Dot I+ Tube Rolling
I'm really surprised to hear that. 2 of the OP amps that I have are the OPA2107 and the LM4562, with the 2107 being the one I prefer. I thought it brough out a lot of the detail in the songs and opened things up. I think I'll try throwing the LM4562 back in for a week or so. I remember it...- muaysteve

Little Dot I+ Tube Rolling
And now I remember why I swung by the thread in the first place: Has anyone been able to compare the NE-408a to the WE-408a tubes? Are they actually the same?- muaysteve

Little Dot I+ Tube Rolling
I respectfully disagree, or would at least say that op amps can have just as a dramatic effect as tubes. I only have one set of tubes besides the stock ones, and using them sounds "different" than the stock tubes.... but I ordered 3 different op amps from TI (for free) and those were all...- muaysteve

New hybrid amp by Little Dot, I+
Thanks John. I ended up swapping it out with a second adapter I had kicking around. I spent an hour listening, and everything was fine. I noticed some black smudge like marks on the first adapter, so I assume it needs to be cleaned. Does anyone clean the port on the little dot?- muaysteve

New hybrid amp by Little Dot, I+
Hello fellow LD fans. I am having a problem with crackling and distortion on my setup. I have narrowed it down to the headphone jack and/or the adapter. I am using Grado sr80i's with an adapter on my LD i+. Yesterday I was getting a crackling here and there while I was using it. At...- muaysteve

Quote: Thanks for the feedback on those amps pallentx. The Lyr was a little more than I wanted to spend, although not out the question. It seemed like overkill for my needs pumping 6w into 32 ohm. Especially since I am just looking to check out tube sound vs adding any real power. I...- muaysteve

Is anyone else running a Shiit Vahalla with their Grado's? I am really interested in this amp, but have read that it is not a super match for lower impedance cans, as well as being more neutral than other tube amps. I'd love to hear from a few people that are using a Valhalla with...- muaysteve

Aune T1 USB Tube DAC+ SS Amp Discussion Thread ***See first post for FAQ--Updated on 02/14/15***
So I have been drooling over this T1 amp since christmas and I was just about to pull the trigger. But I just hit a snag: I just figured out that if I run my ipod to the amp via the line out I won't actually be using the tube part of the amp? What is it that all you guys are running to...- muaysteve
