In the manual, it is mentioned that when connecting a power amp to the iESL, its output power should not exceed 100W @8Ohm. Does anyone have experience with connecting higher-powered amps to this thing? I have an Audiophonics HPA 400ET with around 225W @8Ohm. Could this still work?

I never disconnect my headphones before powering on/off the amp. No problems so far. I'm also still very impressed with this amp. It might not have the level of detail of, let's say, an RME ADI-2 or a Topping A90, but the high current function just sounds so great with planars!

Would be interested in reading your impressions, particularly on the comparison between iHA-6 and Burson C3XR. Just compared the Cayin with the Topping A90, and to me the Cayin is the winner - better deep bass, almost the same level of detail, and better stage depth.

I have both the iHA-6 and the A90, and have compared both using the Meze Empyrean. The iHA-6 has a fuller bass and better stage depth, in my opinion. A90 has slightly better detail, particularly in the treble area (more "airy"), and overall sounds more analytical/clinical, which makes it sound...

+1. There is one single report of an A90 failing, and John from Topping specifically said that the reason for the failure can't be the same as for the L30, as they have a completely different design. My D90/A90 stack is functioning well since day one, and I'm very happy with it.
