Rhapsodio thread
Thanks to the Galaxy I have discovered new qualities to my Calyx M. I am quite a fan of the Galaxy and I would argue that looking for the right pairing for your ears is the right way to go. I do not know if you have tried "a" Solar, but Sammy who I have known for a few years and who has always...- iohk

Rhapsodio thread
Just in case and FWIW, I do not think that I have suffered from a poor seal with the universal version of the Galaxy. I love customs, but with universals, choosing the right tips goes a long way.- iohk

PHONON SMB-02 - HOLY GRAIL
Thank you for your mail and your explanations. I have had my pair for a few years now, I picked them on a whim after listening to the Talking Heads from my iPhone. I found them to be quite detailed, really enjoyable with house/techno music, but also some classical music. I do like the quality of...- iohk

Review of Audio Technica ATH-IM01, ATH-IM02, ATH-IM03, ATH-IM04, ATH-IM50, & ATH-IM70
Quote: I would second that choice - as I like both :-). I think the IM02 is a bit more fun, because of its mid-range. The Etys (ER4 series) would probably help @Nuke142, I always find them to be a good benchmark for the music I like to listen to.- iohk

FitEar Parterre (パルテール) Thread
666th post! FWIW Chodi I think you will enjoy the Parterre a lot. I am right now listening to Handel's arias (Kozena's recordings with the Venice Baroque Orchestra) with the Parterre and it is a fine experience.- iohk

$999 Calyx M with DXD + DSD, 64GB + SD + µSD storage
It seems different users have different experiences when it comes to how long they can use their players. I am now on FW 0.96. I do not think I have been able to reach 6 hours in one go, but it has never been as bad as 4 hours for example. On the plane, I use the power made available - this of...- iohk

$999 Calyx M with DXD + DSD, 64GB + SD + µSD storage
Just a quick note to say that I have had my M for a week, and I have used it during my travels. I am not sure if it the Melbourne air (where I still am for a few hours), but I have been enjoying it so far...No particular issue to report - I am on firmware 0.6, and I have been using it with...- iohk

Now this is a great reference - maybe one of the albums of the year? Is there a particular piece / moment of that recording you particularly pay attention to? Which of your set-ups allows you to enjoy these incredible vibratos? Best, K.- iohk

MH Audio HA - 11 Japan new portable amp
Thank you very much Rudi. I have also replied to your PM. For other interested parties, I am intrigued by your statement about the iPod classic. Which LOD would you recommend for the latest commercially available iPod Classic? Current favorite IEMs are FitEar Parterre and CIEMs Rhapsodio...- iohk

MH Audio HA - 11 Japan new portable amp
Thank you Rudi & Singleended58. The reason behind my question is that I see you trying quite a few different amps, and I just found out that I also enjoy swapping amps to get different signatures. I am hence wondering what would be a recommended player to let the amps work their magic. The...- iohk

$999 Calyx M with DXD + DSD, 64GB + SD + µSD storage
OK I understand what you are after. It was in the name, wasn't it? :-) All my - what I would call "techno" - records are...vinyl. I would have to make a search, but it would be things like Hardfloor, Neil Landstrumm, Surgeon...I have never been into "goa" etc...I think I would concur with the...- iohk

$999 Calyx M with DXD + DSD, 64GB + SD + µSD storage
May I ask what you categorise as EDM? I didn't get to try the M with "electronic" music, but I would agree that if one listens to the likes of Autechre / LFO one will probably prefer the AK240, or the AK120. Four Tet, Mount Kimbie, Boards of Canada would (I hope) work with the M. I might be...- iohk

$999 Calyx M with DXD + DSD, 64GB + SD + µSD storage
Yes I did. Would be nice to meet, I somewhat wished we had tried the Calyx together :-) Just in case it isn't clear from the different posts, the Calyx M will only be delivered at the end of May / first week of June. In terms of posting "proper" impressions, I think we will all have to wait at...- iohk

$999 Calyx M with DXD + DSD, 64GB + SD + µSD storage
Just the announced price (~USD 1000): HKD 7800. I actually liked the volume slider. I didn't think there was any risk. There is also the possibility to adjust the volume using the UI, but I much preferred using the slider. I did play a bit with it when pairing the DAP with the amplifier, and...- iohk

$999 Calyx M with DXD + DSD, 64GB + SD + µSD storage
I listened to the Calyx M today with my Parterre, by itself, and also paired with my ALO International, thanks to the Hong Kong distributor Square Wave. I apparently became the first person who purchased it after listening to it - but far from being the first purchaser. Expectations are...- iohk

$189 ALO Audio The Key USB DAC - 32-Bit / 384KHz with PCM5102A
Seems like it would be nice to have to enjoy again some of the amps that have been gathering dust because of the portability of dac+amp combos. Has anyone tried the key with the continental for example?- iohk

DAC/AMP for Ipod Classic and ER4P
I also live in HK, there are quite a few places where you can try different pairings. I am not sure why you didn't go for the PT model - which I have and use all the times, despite trying/owning other iems. You wouldn't then need an amp to drive your iems, but to "open" the music. As...- iohk

ALO audio New amp+DAC : "The International"
Thank you Voteforpedro. The news that we don't have to use the CCK, as per Ken's message and video is a fantastic news. I was wondering if you had tried other lightning adapters, USB cables, to shorten the first set up shown by Ken on the video. Many thanks, K.- iohk

ALO audio New amp+DAC : "The International"
Ken and Voteforpedro, Have you had the opportunity to play further with adapters and cables? Any recommendation you'd be recommending for the agonising traveller? I have been using the CCK in the past but found it was not holding firm enough for me to carry an iPad 2 around. Many thanks, K.- iohk
