RS-1. Suited for your type of music and is it not that "RS" is short for "Reference Series"? Looks good too...not too spaced-out looking. Wood and leather, simple, sweet and smooth (like butter). Not that I am a Grado fan boy, but it is not a classic headphone for nothing.

Dt770 definitely for ultra low frequency bass...SR225 for hard rock/metal. I love both but the DT770 gets used more often due to minimal sound leakage, being closed cans. Would not advise if you are claustrophobic....

Darklands (the album), lots of nostalgia for me....mid 80's indie. I actually like this album more than any of their releases, a bit radio friendly than the previous ones (plenty of raw guitar feedback). I have all their albums.

The older version has the bigger bang for the buck. The difference is not noticeable I think, but then if you pay a bit more, you would be wanting some improvement (no matter how slight). Besides I think the older version looks classic beyer. The new one looks like a sega/nintendo/space...
