Are Mad Dogs 3.2 required for the upgrade?

Couldn't you take 2 of the same headphones, one pair burned in and one not?

By second headphones I thought you meant something like VModas or maybe Mad Dogs.  But Sennheiser HD800 is pretty nice for first headphones

I wasn't listening too loud. It was about 40-50% volume most of the time. Constant noise, like proton said, is also a big factor when you are exposed to it a long time.

One of the Headphoneus Supremus guys on that other thread told me to get the AKG 167's. He said they are well balance with a punchy bass. So guess what I'm getting.

I actually use a 1st gen iPod Touch right now but I may upgrade to an iPod classic sooner or later.

Would you recommend an amp for the AKGs? I Probably need one for later in life so can you recommend a good all around portable amp?

I also have been told by my uncle that if you have white noise like static from your headphones at a lie volume it will still damage your ears if you don't take them off for a long time. Hope I helped.
