Audio-Technica M50xBT Impressions Thread
I'm interested in those pads too. Will be interesting to hear your thoughts. And I agree with you 100%. These are for using at work or on the go. When cables can get annoying. as a matter of fact. I have not even tried listening to them via cable yet. If I did I think I would want to amp them...- Jack Linguini

Audio-Technica M50xBT Impressions Thread
I've been rocking the ATH-M50XBT for about a month now. I agree with the above impressions. For BT headphones the bass is very nice. Not sloppy or bad DSP boosted sound. 1 concern I do have is the micro-USB power connector. USB-C would have been nice and less prone to break since its not...- Jack Linguini

TEAC UD-301
@BrotherKathos , What gear are you using it with? As DAC and headphone amp ? Stereo usage? I could see this sounding really pretty bright in certain all solid state systems. I'm using mine into a Yamaha R S7000 and ELAC B6. In this system it sounds very good. The ELACs definitely do roll off...- Jack Linguini

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Merry Xmas fellow Schiit-heads !!! It lives !!! Freya is finally alive on the website !!! Be still my heart. It is so pretty !!! A question(s) for the Schiit guys: do the single ended and the balanced outputs work simultaneously? Can you control volume for 2 amps at the same time ? Also are...- Jack Linguini

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Only 2 systems in the living room? I have a 2 channel Sansui receiver based system for radio and podcast listening. A 5.2 Onkyo/PSB system hooked to my TV area. And a Yamaha/Schiit/McIntosh/ELAC system for stereo listening. My friends are always teasing me about how many...- Jack Linguini

TEAC UD-301
A followup to my last post, Looks like my issue is specific to Airport Express and Airplay. I tested the optical out on my macbook and I was able to upsample to 88.1 & 176.2 Apparently the optical signal the Arport Express sends out is garbage. I found these threads on the same...- Jack Linguini

TEAC UD-301
New UD-301 & Airplay issue. Hi there, I'm a very infrequent head-fi poster. Recently I decided on the TEAC UD-301 DAC for my primary HI-FI system. I am streaming to an apple airport express over ethernet. The Airport Express is setup as an audio receiver only. WiFi is not active...- Jack Linguini

Ultrasone HFI-15G owners
Sad to say they didn't work out for me. There were 2 issues: The left-ear driver buzzed/rattled >100 HZ. It was especially noticable with low Bass lines. A little Italian engineering seemed to mostly fix the rattle. Played loud tone sweeps. Slapped it at 100HZ. ;) But they didn't...- Jack Linguini

Ultrasone HFI-15G owners
Getting a pair in the mail today for my birthday. I'll do some A/B testing with my 20th anniversary HD414s and report back here. I'm hoping that these are the modern replacement for the HD414s. I'm not convinced about the Sennheiser PX100-II as many people complain that the bass is...- Jack Linguini

Sennheiser HD 219
Just want to back up Swaffleman's assessment of these phones. They are a great buy at $30. Super efficient so they work with your cellphone ipad etc. And the frequency response is quite detailed and pleasing. Here's a link to a chart comparing these to the Sony MDR V6: ...- Jack Linguini
