    Android phones and USB DACs

Thanks for the reply. Is there anyway to check this without purchasing a DAC? And if not, would any USB DAC work or is my best bet to get one that is specific to Android?    Thanks again.

    Android phones and USB DACs

Does anyone know if a Pantech Discover with Jelly Bean will support a DAC? Would really help me out knowing this information.  I downloaded USB OTG Checker and my device does have it. However, I am not sure if it has USB audio. If it doesn't, is downloading the USB Audio Player PRO a generally...

Help me set up motorcycle helmet. Please :-)

Thanks for the reply. That's very interesting. The sound quality will likely be much better than A2DP bluetooth. My main concern first is sound level as the speakers are going to have to compete with engine noise, wind, etc...   If my phone was not going to be in a sealed case mount I would...

Help me set up motorcycle helmet. Please :-)

Simply put, I want to stream music from an Android based smartphone to my helmet.   I'm thinking of going with an HTC One + Plus, as I can get one fairly inexpensive ($200-$250) on eBay. I wanted to go with the S3 because of its known sound quality, but it only has a 210 Lux screen, thus while...

Smart phone Bluetooth: apt-x vs a2dp vs SBC.

Delete. Sorry. Sold phone. Pantech Discover Audio quality is garbage just in case anyone had any doubts.

    Need help identifying earphones.

A few months ago I was looking at a pair of earphones made by a hearing aid company. The part where the music came out looked like a thin wire which set inside your ear. They looked really interesting, and like you could easily wear them all day long.   Anyone know what they are called or...

    Shoot Out, and a Question.

Where to get properly sized tips though? I know about Comply, but what about silicone? I see silicone tips for sale on Amazon and the like, but they all seem to be basically the T400 size, which are too large for the Philips, UE200, etc... which require a T200.

    Shoot Out, and a Question.

So I got my first pair (three actually) of decent in-ear headphones. Logitech Ultimate Ears/UE 200, Philips SHE3590 (assuming same as 3580), and Monoprice 8320.   Broke UE 200 in for about 30-40 hours, Philips for 25 hours, and none on the Mono.     Overall feeling of quality is hands...

    UE 200 newer model differences.

I just inadvertently ordered the older model of these 985-000088 with the Logitech on the outside, as opposed to the newer model 985-000227 with just UE on the outside.   All of the good reviews I have read pertained to the newer model. I am just wondering if they also apply to the older, if...

    Down and dirty earbud reference/list.

OK, so my endless search for my first pair of non-cheapo headphones is likely going to go on for the rest of my life, I now conclude.   Cnet reviews, and the like, do not seem to be anywhere near as realistic & useful as forum user reviews/experts on the ground - specifically here.   The...

    IEM Christmas Suggestion.

Just thought of something. Can't find the answer via research. The Klipsch Image S4 is supposed to have a cable that does not transmit noise when rubbed. Anyone know if the Philips SHE3580 has a good cable?

Thanks for the reply. Do you know how they [3580] compare to the Klipsch Image S4?

    IEM Christmas Suggestion.

Hey guys,   Over the last few days I have read through hours of threads here and my head is spinning. Thanks for all of the great information. You guys/gals are absolutely awesome.   I just missed out on a great deal for the Klipsch Image S4 for $35. They're now $50, thus I'm no longer...

Bose AE2 for specific reasons...Seconds away from pulling trigger

Loved the logitech-UE 6000. I remember them having more room than the AE2, but also being kind of big and more than I really want to spend (the AE2's are actually more than I want to spend as well).   My problem is that if I get something too expensive, then I'm going to have to buy a...

Bose AE2 for specific reasons...Seconds away from pulling trigger

Thanks for the reply. My main concern is comfort, as i suppose I have slightly larger than average ears. I have read through most of the AE2 threads on here, and have seen several people claiming the same thing, about finding them the most comfortable/fitting for larger ears, but have yet to...

Bose AE2 for specific reasons...Seconds away from pulling trigger

Hey guys.   First ever non cheapo cans was a pair of Sennheiser HD 201's. Loved the sound quality vs. cheapos, but they hurt my ears. I extended the pads away from the base, and I guess I have large ears, as the circumference seemed to be too small and caused ear pain after about 20-30...
